Positive: WOW. Cabot lodge was superb in every way. Bridie and Brad were perfect hosts, Rob the Chef cooked amazing 5 star food, all the remaining staff top line. The views at the property were amazing. Our room was excellent, large and the open fire a real treat. We will definitely be back for longer next time, 2 days of being spoilt was not long enough. Positive: Cabot Lodge was extraordinary - Birdie and Brad are born hosts and make their guests feel immediately at home. The quality, luxury and attention to detail in the accommodation and meals are exceptional. This place is not to be missed if you are lucky enough to be going when they have availability. Make sure you take full advantage of your time there, using the facilities, enjoying the stunning views and walking the property. A exceptional retreat!

Positive: This place is perfect in so many ways. Host meeting you on arrival - staff appear whether you wander out of your room and ask if they can assist. Amazing service. Every member of the team was perfectly polite, engaging, and responsive. They will organise anything that you want - trips across the surrounding area. One couple had a helicopter trip and it literally landed on the lawn of the place. That is defeintly the way to end a long day! Location - stunning is the word you will probably read most about this place. And it actually is. Room - we had the room with the terrace - I would book this again - as you walk straight out from your room into a courtyard which is in the shade and sun in the afternoon. This is an all-inclusive accommodation - it has to be as it is a trek from the local towns. The food was extremely good. It was never too much or too little the chief has got the balance right. At the end of the trip I left items in the room (very annoyed with myself) the owner looked after them and made sure we got them back. Everything was amazing

Positive: A luxury stay experience at the edge of the breathtakingly beautiful New Zealand Fiordland. The Lodge sits in a stunning rural setting, with sweeping views across beautiful Lake Manapouri to the snow-capped peaks beyond. Our hosts Breidi and Brad made us feel very welcome and at home. Gourmet dinner and breakfast included in the stay were outstanding, and upon request our hosts arranged a delicious picnic for us to take on our day cruise to Doubtful Sound. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and many thoughtful details enhanced our stay. Highlights for us included an afternoon relaxing in the Library in front of a crackling fire, and chatting to other Lodge guests in the lounge over pre-dinner drinks and canapes.

Negative: This was really a close to perfect stay. One very minor issue was that a curtain across the glass door into our room would have been good, as at night the glass let in a lot of bright light from the external security lighting.

Summary: Luxurious, warm and welcoming lodge in a simply magical setting.
