Positive: I prefer staying, organic and ecological place, so this place was good for us. I wanted to visit the Chapel of Notre-Dame du Haut by Le Corbusier, so it was a perfect location.

Positive: This an apartment on the second floor above the owner’s residence. It is nicely decorated with beautiful views. There is an opportunity to be outside but you have to carry all your stuff down the stairs and onwards to your designated area to be. Good sized nice bathroom . Check in is not before four and you have to be out by ten.

Negative: If it is hot, and with more and more hot weather this will become more frequent, it is very, very, very hot inside. There is no A/C, no ceiling fan nor even a small table fan. In addition, there are no shutters as is so frequent in France. And being on the top floor with sloping roof the heat is intensified. Ventilation with open windows is the only source of relief (if there is a breeze). On the topic of heat there is also to our surprise, no microwave so cooking has to be done using the stove in the most minimal sized area which is ok in cool weather but again creates more heat!

Positive: Caroline and Stefan were helpful and friendly hosts of this little gem of an apartment, to stay for the night. The place was really comfortable with lovely garden space to sit and enjoy the countryside. Good safe car parking and great communication with the hosts. Would definitely recommend. We didn’t realise when we booked that Ronchamp is famous for the church, and it’s amazing architecture, and definitely worth a visit.
