Positive: The house is beautiful with breathtaking views. The decor fits with the style of the house and is charming! Very very well kitted out kitchen. The owners were extremely responsive and went well beyond making our stay perfect! We are most definitely coming back to this property for our next trip to Arran.

Negative: Initially tried to contact owners using the Booking.com link which doesn’t work. The owners are extremely responsive but don’t try going through Booking.com

Positive: Amazing views and stunning location. The kitchen and dining room were fantastic spaces. The views from the middle bedroom were particularly spectacular.

Negative: It was disappointing that: - The beds were so small and uncomfortable that two couples had to sleep separately in the end - no bbq or large outside table was disappointing especially with the amazing weather - the lights in the kitchen were not working - unfortunately I snapped my Achilles tendon and the staff / hosts were unwilling to be flexible with our booking. Which is fine because there were no cancellations but under the circumstances it would have been nice to have some sympathy especially as our requests were sent with plenty of notice. - no check out instructions made our departure guess work.

Summary: Amazing location, small changes would make this stay absolutely fantastic. As it is, was a good venue.

Positive: We had an amazing long weekend at Burncliff! The house is stunning and so spacious. Great heating and a cozy log burner. The owner was incredible and helped us with our special request for our little toddler. The surrounding area is simply beautiful. Can’t recommend enough.

Negative: Mattresses could be a bit comfier but it did not affect our stay whatsoever.

Positive: Fantastic house with a rich history. Great location, amazing surroundings. Excellent facilities - from antique bathtub to Aga cooking. Logfire in the living room. We enjoyed dining al fresco in the back garden, and exploring the house and its bookshelves. A wonderful stay overall, and very hospitable host.

Negative: The internet was a little patchy at times, but that was no issue as we were there to disconnect.
