Positive: This place feels like stepping into another era. The guesthouse is absolutely beautiful. The details, from the antique decor and drapery to the luxurious finishes and high-quality bedding, feel thoughtfully chosen. Everything was spotless and smelled great. Peter truly made the stay special. He’s very kind and attentive, always making sure we were comfortable, giving great recommendations, and taking care of the room while we were out. The breakfast each morning was exceptional with many options. It felt warm, elegant, and unforgettable.

Negative: One thing to keep in mind is that the bathroom doors are shutters, so they aren’t at all soundproof. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but it’s worth noting for anyone who prefers more privacy.

Positive: We cannot recommend Brugsche Suites enough, it was absolutely amazing & surpassed every expectation we had. The attention to detail was beyond anything we’d ever experienced before. The layout of the rooms and exquisite decor spoke volumes about the time & effort Peter has invested renovating the property over the years. Speaking of which, Peter was the most attentive host anyone could wish for. Nothing was too much trouble and he was genuinely an incredibly interesting host. His knowledge of the property, city and history of Bruges (& so much more) is a testament to his deep interest in history & don’t get me started on his taste in music!!!! My husband and I could easily have spent our entire stay just talking to Peter!

Positive: I almost hesitate to write this review because I’d love to keep this gem to myself, but Brugsche Suites deserves the recognition. By far, it’s the best place I’ve stayed in the past several years. The property itself is a luxury boutique bed and breakfast in a historic building with only a handful of rooms. Everything is absolutely impeccable, and you can tell every little detail has been carefully considered—from the shampoo bottles in the bathroom to the tealights, and even the design of the chairs in the suites. But the real standout is the host, Peter. As wonderful as the hotel is, Peter made our stay extraordinary. This trip was for my partner’s birthday, and I mentioned this to Peter beforehand. Every day and evening, he left thoughtful little notes in our room—celebrating the birthday, wishing us good night, surprising us with samples of Belgian chocolate and celebratory champagne, and adding a personal, heartwarming touch to our stay. Breakfast was also fantastic, prepared exactly to our liking every morning, making it feel even more special. Best of all, Peter handled everything with a genuine, subtle elegance—nothing ever felt tacky or overdone. From the moment we checked in, Peter went above and beyond—explaining the history of the building, sharing stories about Brugge, and offering spot-on recommendations for what to see and do. He made us feel right at home and truly enhanced our experience. I can’t recommend Brugsche Suites enough. If you’re looking for somewhere special to stay in Brugge, this is it. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
