Positive: The location is what you pay for - waking up in the rainforest, with accessible walks and a safe path for the kids to walk themselves to see the early morning platypus - stunning.

Negative: It has not changed since the 80’s. Which I love and don’t love. The rooms smell a little musty which I felt could be solved with some room spray or new carpets? It was warm and toasty with the fire but we could’ve been given a quick run through, instead we’re just handed the keys.

Summary: What a stunning location - I loved taking my kids back to the 80’s in the rainforest!

Positive: The resort is in a great location on a mature landscaped property with rainforest and Broken River on its fringe. The cabins are spacious and there is a great restaurant/communal area. We did see the promised platypus along with numerous turtles in Broken River.

Negative: The cabins are showing signs of age. We had a leak around the chimney when it rained. Most of the advertised activities and amenities are no longer available. The restaurant was only doing take-away during the week and there was no-one to take night-time wildlife spotting tours. The visitor information centre across the river only opens on weekends but was closed the weekend prior to our arrival. The rainforest is superb but the leeches come out after rain, so stick to the wider paths in wet weather.

Negative: We were disappointed as there were No wild animal encounters. Not fault of property. The retreat looked aged . The kettle heating element was rusty
