Summary: Air con didnt work. Had to change room, as original room was about 30C. Got a window room (upgrade after spending £120 on a standard, lucky me). This introduced the new problem of screaming women outside for hours. I had to turn the fan on all nught to try and block it out. Brutal.

Summary: I complained about the poor condition of the room provided for my stay and the unacceptable service received from the management staff the following morning. Upon entering the room, we were met with a strong smell of cigarettes. Furthermore, the wardrobe smelled strongly of urine, making it unusable. The room was unbearably hot, and it was evident this was a known issue as a fan had been left running prior to our arrival. The air conditioning unit was not functional, which resulted in almost no sleep. I also booked the hotel as it showed the hotel had a pool, of which we were informed this was closed around covid, I would assume this is a bit of false advertising. Due to a late arrival and a scheduled event, I was unable to report these issues immediately. I reported them to the manager on duty in the morning. The manager’s handling of this complaint was unprofessional. She was rude, interrupted me while I was speaking, and attended to other matters simultaneously. Furthermore, when arranging an alternative room, she was told over the radio that the "upgraded" room also "stunk of smoke," confirming a wider issue with room cleanliness. The manager offered a choice: accept a free upgrade but waive the right to complain, pay for an upgrade and complain or leave and try and claim the whole stay back. This is not an acceptable way to handle customer issues. I complained via the website and the email address provided, NO RESPONSE!

Summary: Stayed at Sachas Hotel Manchester for two nights and unfortunately the experience was let down badly by the service and overall condition of the hotel. The room itself was acceptable and we paid extra for a window, although it overlooked construction and was quite dirty. There also appeared to be a lot of ongoing maintenance around the hotel, which affected the overall feel of the stay. The biggest issue was the staff. Check-in was uncomfortable, with the staff member more focused on arguing with another guest and audibly complaining under his breath while serving us. It didn’t feel welcoming at all. We asked for basic items (toilet roll and extra pillows) and were told housekeeping had finished for the day and to go buy toilet roll from a nearby shop. That’s not an acceptable response in any hotel. The following day, after asking again, items were left thrown on the bed rather than properly sorted. When we raised this, we were dismissed and told reception was “done” and they were busy due to football the next day. There also appears to be no proper option or structure for room maid service, which adds to the frustration when even basic requests aren’t handled properly. Location is great and the room was fine for a short stay, but the lack of service, poor staff attitude, and ongoing maintenance issues really let it down. Wouldn’t return based on this experience.
