Summary: Lovely hotel with great staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We stayed in the cottage’s which were better then we expected. They had nice views of the beach, pier and gardens. The swimming pool was a good size, warm and clean. Breakfast was varied and good quality. Room service was excellent and the staff were helpful bringing it in. Only downside was no dressing gowns in our room which would have been helpful to go to the pool but overall a great stay.

Summary: Beautiful room and hotel, the swimming pool was fantastic and the views were amazing.. Unfortunately it was so busy we couldn’t wait for the queue for breakfast.

Summary: This hotel is very conveniently located and the outside pool was lovely and warm. There was a kids pack on arrival and a kids menu at the restaurant which was helpful. The building is fairly run down and noise travels between rooms and especially from the floors above. The beds were not very comfortable with springs fairly evident and the food in the restaurant was below your average gastro-pub quality. The car park was not as small as the repeat warnings of limited parking suggests but is very tight to get parked in so larger cars may struggle.

Summary: Lovely room with sea view and nice en suite. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Reasonable choice at breakfast and all fresh. Good location above the beach - lift recommended! Plenty of rrestaurants nearby, also a convenience store. We enjoyed leaving our car behind and using the open top buses 50/70 to Poole, Swanage and Hengistbury Head. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel (provided you don't mind a noisy breakfast if you eat inside!)

Summary: Good location and friendly staff, but overall I was disappointed with the hotel. Having stayed at quite a few Marriott hotels, I’ve definitely stayed in better ones. The hotel feels tired and worn and, in my opinion, doesn’t meet the 5-star standard I was expecting. Even in the room, some of the floorboards creaked badly and a couple moved when stepped on, which was surprising. The beach location is a plus, with a lift outside the hotel giving access to the beach. However, it costs £3 per person each way. I also booked breakfast. I understand this is operated by a separate company, not the hotel. The waiting staff were friendly and doing their best, but they seemed overworked and there didn’t appear to be enough staff for the number of guests. Unfortunately, the breakfast itself was disappointing, and I’d recommend eating elsewhere. The friendly staff and location were the highlights, but overall I expected more from a 5-star Marriott. I’ve stayed at much better Marriott properties and would choose one of those instead.
