Positive: Excellent location, free shuttle bus dropped me right at the door from the train station, check in was smooth, the host was very friendly, they provided two free drinks tokens. My room was large (3 beds), mainly quiet with a balcony overlooking the street and canal. My bed was quite comfortable, towels and hand towels provided to use in the onsens. Overall was a perfect two night stay in Kinosaki, everything is in walking distance. Recommend 👍
Negative: The beanbag pillows, not at all comfortable 😅 I used some cushions I found instead. Slightly noisy from the bar below, I use earplugs.

Positive: This is exactly next door to the last of the 7 onsen. Right in front of the door of the famous KINOSAKI ROPEWAY to go to top of the mountain. So. I visited that mountain top + 2 onsen exactly at it's door step. I bought sake to share with everyone and owner and staff kindly warm it up the traditional way, it felt like a nice home-y experience. None of that commercial tourist yucky stuff. I stayed 9 nights in Kinosaki. Moved around 4 places total. Because I want to experience EVERYTHING!!!! From hostel to Ryokan to tatami to bookstore, I was literally from onsen 1 to onsen 7 without ever needing to track the whole path back and forth because I lived right to onsen at every place. Just a lot of packing and unpacking!!! 🤣🤣🤣 This place is the only place that helped me like a true human being!!!!! As a tiny old independent lady that I am, I really cannot walk my own luggage with 3 carry on & without any taxi tracking 2-3 kilometers. Because it's a walking town, that's understandable. But I'm the only person checking in and out constantly unlike other tourists, I therefore experienced this deeply. That transport in this town is a real problem. Los Angeles Uber is everywhere, or even Taiwan has taxi at every corner, let alone Budapest too, there's always some kind of transportation that can be arranged. Maybe first time in Japan, I'm not used to so much walking. Uber and Didi app don't work in this area. Now. This is a true bookstore cafe. Upstairs there are 2 dorm rooms, clean and organized as the typical japanese accommodation as you can imagine. Toilet is right there. I stayed 2 nights... day 1 I go Gosho onsen (4 min walk), then sake party right at bookstore. Day 2 I go kono onsen next door to the right, then mandara onsen next door to the left in evening. Everything is PERFECT. Literally like HOME.

Positive: Great location, big room and comfortable bed, very affordable for a solo traveller, friendly staff. Didn't miss the shower facilities as there are so many onsens in the town.
Negative: It was mentioned but the noise from the bar area really does travel. For me the chatter was quiet until about 10.30pm when one loud customer arrived. That said at exactly midnight it closed and got quiet.

Positive: Friendly staff, lovely place in a great location. Very spacious room only for myself with balcony looking at the street with canal.
Negative: Nothing really but I was surprised when I learned that there's no shower available so you have to go to the baths for it. Not a problem since that's why you basically go to Kinosaki but for one day without a valid pass to the baths would be a thing to consider.

Positive: Fantastic location right near the trail to Onsenji and not far from the onsens. Towels provided and a lovely big space that could fit 3 people (though I just had it to myself). Staff were very kind and though I didn't try the food/drink it looked decent and a good place to meet people in the evening.
Negative: No shower in the accommodation, but if you're in Kinosaki you should be using the onsens anyway
Summary: Great little spot!
