Summary: Stayed for 3 nights, very clean and a unique historical property. Extremely calm and peaceful and the owners were helpful and friendly. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay near Furns or Sao Miguel generally.

Summary: The house was just as advertised, very cool and historic, right on the lake with access tothe whole estate, about 20 minutes from furnas, restaurants, shops. Lovely welcome basket was waiting for us, check in a breeze, the only negative was how humid it is, and they do have dehumidifiers but they keep the heat in also to dry the placer out, so it’s quite warm inside, so if you open the windows the humidity is about 100 percent with no fans.

Summary: Historic home, you will find this home on post cards, magnets, Cups, etc. The property is stunning. The garden, the lake, the church, it was all amazing. The home is a bit dated so if you are looking for chic and modern this is not the place for you! It was however just what I thought the Azores would be like. It was a slice of heaven for us. During the day there is a lot of foot traffic but in the evening it is all yours! The garden has a nice path that leads to a pretty little waterfall. There is a beautiful peacock that roams the yard. Our host had a nice basket of fresh bread, jelly, juice, butter, cheese, milk and bolas levedos. It set the tone! I wish now I had booked this for the entire 9 days. But we stayed 4 nights on each end of the island. By far, Furnas was the best.

Summary: Meeting Margarida at check in was wonderful, as we heard all of the history of the large property and her family home. Beautiful interior and calm view of the Lagoa das Furnas.
