Positive: We enjoyed everything about this visit. We stayed in the Garden Room. It is beautiful and so romantic. The fireplace was so nice. We had our own porch. The breakfast was hot and had a great variety.

Negative: I can’t think of a thing.

Summary: Beautiful out of the way stay, yet close to Durango.

Positive: We love this peaceful property. We come out at least once a year-- we are local to the area. Shirley called and gave us an upgrade to the Garden Suite-- it was so spacious and a beautiful retreat setting. We love the fireplce, large shower and four poser bed. We walked the property and had breakfast in the morning. It was a wonderful getaway!!!

Negative: The property is a little dated-- but that works if you are truly trying to unplug.

Positive: The river house is beautiful. The owners upgraded my stay at no extra cost, which was a pleasant surprise.

Negative: No window coverings in the front of the house, and not everything locked but the staff were able to help out right away. The back door was unlocked and open when I arrived, and the trash wasn't emptied in the kitchen from the previous guest. Being right next to the highway was unexpected, traffic is a little noisy. There's also a van parked not far from the house with people driving up and down the private driveway at night.

Summary: It was a nice, mostly comfortable place with all the amenities and Durango not too far off.

Positive: Pretty area with peaceful walkways and a nice relaxing sitting area in front. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very roomy and spacious and provided a beautiful area for our daughters to take pictures on the balcony while we rested. Breakfast was sweet in the spacious kitchen the next morning and we had the choice of eating in the dining room or on the patio. We would definitely stay here again.

Negative: Our girls were hungry and after 8:30 there isn’t anywhere close to get a soda or food. If we hadn’t had a couple of snacks we wouldn’t have had anything for them. I would suggest leaving drinks and a few small snacks for guests staying here. The closest restaurants were 20-30 minutes away.

Summary: We enjoyed it and we definitely would return.

Positive: Freshly prepared breakfast was great with the lake view. Whole areal is very charming both at night and in the morning.

Negative: We made online reservation in the evening for the same day. Although the reservation was automatically approved, nobody was present at the reception desk nor noboday pick up the phone when we arrived. Waiting up to 45 minutes in the evening to find somebody to get to our room was pretty inconvenient. And no apologize get the next day... I guess with reservation made couple days in advance it would be great experience. Bath tub was great but a bit dirty (with cobwebs).
