Positive: When we booked the Inn, we looked forward to staying at a charming country. The Blue Bear Inn is indeed a charming country inn with restaurant and tavern. The serve a simple continental breakfast each morning. We truly appreciated the setting and atmosphere. However, our experience was significantly impacted by the lack of quiet hours and supervision during our stay.

Negative: Our experience was significantly impacted by the lack of quiet hours and supervision. While the restaurant and tavern close at 9:00 PM, the inn did not establish or enforce quiet hours. The Inn was hosting a youth field hockey team with children approximately 7–9 years old. Both evenings, the children were permitted to run through the hallways, yell loudly, bang on walls, and play in common areas until nearly 10:00 PM. At one point, plastic tubes had been stretched across the hallway, preventing easy access to one of our rooms, and children were also playing on the staircase directly outside another room late into the evening. The parents appeared pleasant, but there seemed to be little effort made to contain the noise or activity level. More concerning was that the inn staff did not establish or enforce any quiet hours out of consideration for other guests trying to relax or sleep. The property itself has great charm and potential, but for guests seeking a peaceful country inn experience, clearer expectations around evening behavior and quiet time would make a substantial difference.

Positive: Quaint old building but really well maintained. Great location especially if you want to ski. The land size is large so apparently summer is fun too. Absolutely charming setting and great hosts.

Positive: I loved the location, scenery, open space, pool area! Dinners and drinks were delicious.

Negative: I think I would have liked more protein choices available from the continental breakfast...maybe some hard-boiled eggs? I would also like to see a simple lunch offering.

Summary: A very peaceful, beautiful piece of property...perfect for relaxing with a good book poolside!

Positive: Great place - everything really good quality in a wonderfully relaxed and understated way - friendly and thoughtful hosts, excellent food, good strong shower.

Negative: Only minor things - we were surprised to find our bathroom was across the hall, not en suite and wished there were some nice thick curtains as the blinds let in lots of light in the morning.

Summary: Just what we were looking for - a friendly, homely and really good quality family friendly place five mins from the slop

Positive: Loved the look of the inn, beds were confortable, quiet, great tavern for dinner. Staff very nice, and very very clean.

Negative: Just would have liked a hot breakfast. The inn is remote and not near any coffee shops or diners. So they have such a great Tavern and dinner I'm hoping that they put out a hot breakfast going forward with eggs pancakes sausage proteins available like ham or bacon, and that all important dark Rich coffee and maybe a lighter selection of coffee for those who don't like it rich and dark. Creamer and nut milks available for the coffees would be great. It would be even more special if they had an espresso machine that could be self-operated or, someone to do it. Yes I know that cost money but an Inn like this really should have a hot breakfast, it screams for it in that cute room they have on the first floor. I know the owners have just taken over, and perhaps this is in the works, because they are doing a great job. The Inn was fully booked when we arrived. ** something else to note they should let the people know there are no elevators in the Inn. I guess we can assume that, in an older building- but that is important to people who have knee injuries or knee replacements, Etc. However the staff was great, and carried my suitcase up for me, so I have to say this is the place I would return to.

Positive: Wonderful stay for our last night in NH. The inn has a stunning location on a hillside on the outskirts of Francestown enjoying beautiful views of the valley. Our queen room was perfect, and we enjoyed taking in the views whilst drinking our morning coffee from the comfort of our couch in the room. Our room had a door to the outside and we were able to step outside to gaze right from our room. Francestown has zero light pollution and we were blown away by the night sky. The inn has a both a restaurant and a bar in the onsite tavern and we took drinks and dinner at the bar. Brian the bar manager was a great host and super friendly and we were treated to a very enjoyable evening where the conversations were flowing with Brian and Francestown local resident Skip. Dinner was wonderful, both my wife and I enjoying the seasonal pumpkin ravioli with a creamy maple sauce which was delightful. The Inn have their own pastry chef and dessert a pumpkin filled choux pastry with pumpkin ice cream showcased the pastry chefs talents perfectly. All told an excellent stay the only disappointment being we were only there for one evening, we're already planning to return for a longer stay in the summer.

Summary: Wonderful stay in a beautiful inn. We'll be back for certain for a longer stay next year.
