A superb semi-detached bungalow with wonderful views on an attractive site within a pleasant residential area on the edge of Keswick, between Fitz Park and the lower slopes of Latrigg. ‘Blencathra' is about a 10 minute easy stroll to Keswick's Market Square. The property has been tastefully decorated to provide fresh and immaculately clean accommodation for up to four guests.
‘Blencathra' has ample parking, full double glazing and gas central heating. All radiators can be individually thermostatically controlled. The bungalow is situated at the top of a small, quiet cul-de-sac. It has a westerly aspect and the fells from Coledale, across Whinlatter Forest to Barf and Skiddaw make a spectacular panorama to the front. At the rear of the property there is a spacious garden providing a peaceful, leafy green area in which to relax and enjoy views of Skiddaw and Latrigg. Red squirrels are charming, frequent visitors. Patio furniture is provided for the summer months so guests can make the most of the tranquillity.
To the left of the front door is the comfortable lounge with outstanding westerly views. Furnished with a quality leather suite, television, DVD and living flame gas fire it is warm and cosy at any time of the year.
The superb double glazed conservatory at the rear of the bungalow provides a quiet and peaceful additional space in which to relax.
The kitchen/diner has very well equipped quality wooden units, an electric oven with a gas hob, extractor fan, washer/dryer, CD/radio and a larder fridge. The freezer is located in the garage which is also a useful area for drying wet clothes - and sorting out walking boots!
There are two good sized bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds, both having quality mattresses and furniture plus beds dressed in luxury linen and towels. Please note that this property is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old.

Summary: We booked Blencathra at short notice after being told that the cottage we had booked to stay in (with a different company) had been sold. The bungalow suited us very well, being comfortably furnished and well equipped, and with its own off-street parking place. We particularly liked the conservatory and the garden, providing outdoor space to relax after our long walks, and we enjoyed watching the rabbits! The location is good, a very quiet residential area, with the shops, restaurant and buses of Keswick within walking distance. We will definitely book again for next year.

Summary: Blencathra was wonderfully located a short walk to town, on a footpath alongside the road, as well as immediately across the street from hiking the fells. The conservatory was an incredible way to experience the ever-changing weather while enjoying the beautiful garden. We walked into town every day for lunch, and cooked dinner each evening at Blencathra, it had everything we needed! If only we weren't traveling from San Diego, we'd do this once a month!

Summary: Blencathra is a spacious and comfortable bungalow in a lovely location. The views from most of the windows are spectacular. The quiet cul-de-sac position is perfect being peaceful and close to paths that take you up into the hills yet close enough to town to make a shopping trip a pleasure. We really enjoyed staying at Blencathra and will definitely return next time we visit Keswick.

Summary: This property was great, location very quiet but not far from the centre of Keswick. The bungalow is very warm and comfortable with a lovely conservatory and garden. The beds are super comfy which is always a bonus. Kitchen has everything you need too, all very clean too. We were also very thankful for the lovely bottle of Prosecco and biscuits which was very nice. A really nice comfy place to stay that we really enjoyed and would definitely stay again. Perhaps a small mirror would be a useful addition in the bathroom as there isn’t one. Also perhaps a couple of washing machine tablets/bin bags and cleaning cloths too. Apart from that it was perfect!

Summary: We stayed here last year and booked to come back, and we hope to return next year, too. The property is less than a leisurely 10 minute walk from the town centre, in a pleasant and very quiet cul-de-sac, and we prefer this to the town centre properties we've stayed in before, which have had a less open aspect.

Summary: Blencathra is a nice bungalow situated on a quiet estate to the north east edge of Keswick. Close enough to venture into town and with good views out of the back and front of the many surrounding hills. Only gripe was that there was nowhere to hang your coat after coming in from a damp walk, we ended up using the back of the kitchen chairs. Other than that an excellent and comfortable property.

Summary: A very nice bungalow located to the rear of Fitz Park. Very peaceful, other than the ‘magpies’. Clean and comfortable and well maintained. Really loved the conservatory, in fact we only in the lounge on one evening. Had all of the facilities that we needed. Lovely peaceful lawn at the rear, plenty of rabbits to watch and even a tawny owl on the chimney next door. We’d return but bring our own pillows, as they weren’t very comfortable. Thank you to the owners for a well maintained property.
