Positive: The communication with the hosts went very smooth and efficient. The location is in the middle of nature next to the river so you can literally see Russia from your bedroom. As a birdwatcher, this is really paradise. The guesthouse is comfortable and clean with a spacious living area, outside deck and well equipped kitchen.

Positive: - Coffe/tea machine and fireplace were very nice - Well cleaned common areas - Nicely situated in nature

Negative: Despite some positives, our overall experience was underwhelming. - The place is a weird mix between a better hostel and a hotel. You pay 375 kronor for a mediocre (at best) 2 course dinner. You receive one plate of food that is cooked by the guiding staff and it was worse than a home cooked family meal, so no real chefs. We also got the same dessert twice (just ice cream). In our opinion, it was definitely not worth the money; but you also cannot cook yourself as the kitchen is locked for guests so you’re forced to get dinner. The breakfast was also poor with little choices, and it would have been nice to have something cooked and not only bread + low quality ham and salami. - We paid 2000 NOK per person to go up to a hut where they have a bird feeder. Absolutely not worth 2000, should have been around 1000 at most. They leave you with no drinks or food (as of course you have to pay extra for this). - In general they wanted to charge for unreasonable things, such as 350 NOK for using the sauna (turning it on yourself) which was free for guests at our other stays in Norway. - Finally, some of the staff was not friendly and not very service minded (however the 2 Germans were the exception). I asked nicely to heat up some Ramen noodles on our first day when we came back from the cold as we hadn’t ordered lunch, and the woman was laughing and said “you absolutely cannot use the kitchen”. All in all, we left feeling disappointed with the experience and would not recommend staying at this accommodation.
