Come and spend a week relaxing at Big Crooked Lake while being close to Grand Rapids and the beautiful West Michigan lakeshore.
Renovated 1100 sqft home on a private, all-sports 150+ acre lake. Private boat launch available to bring your boat and enjoy the private dock and private sandy beach! The home is located on two-thirds of an acre and situated at the end of a peaceful, private drive cul-de-sac. Features include an open layout, 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, outdoor shower, full size washer & dryer, huge deck with plenty of seating, pergola, and 60 feet of private frontage on Big Crooked Lake in Ada, MI. Enjoy fabulous water sports, fishing, swimming, kayaking, a 60 x 60 sandy beach volleyball court, paddle boat rides, campfires, and gorgeous views!
Vacation home has the away from it all feel, yet is only 20 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. The smaller villages of Cannonsburg, Parnell and Grattan are within 5 miles and provide dining, pubs, convenience stores, bike paths, hiking, mountain biking and zip lining. Just a short drive to Van Andel Arena, Fifth Third ballpark, Fredrick Meijer Gardens, Museums, John Ball Zoo, and many breweries. Gun Lake Casino and the Lake Michigan shoreline can be reached within an hour.
Our cottage is suitable for couples and families seeking a peaceful, quiet setting to enjoy lake life! The surrounding area is home to many full-time lake residents, making this a perfect choice for those looking to relax, fish, and enjoy water sports. As such, we do require guests to observe quiet hours from 10pm to 8am. Also note, we do not allow parties or events.

Summary: Lots of fun, the best beach area, way bigger than it looks! Great master bedroom, very large kitchen and living area. Host was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Summary: The cottage was very clean and perfect for our families vacation. We had to cut the trip short due to a huge storm. Owners were very easy to get ahold of and great with communicating and working with us. We hope to be back another time! We loved the location as we were not too far from Grand Rapids.

Summary: Perfectly clean, perfectly comfortable. Highly recommend. We loved the sandy entrance to the lake, we went swimming and fishing almost everyday. We were very comfortable in the lake house and enjoyed the vast number of amenities. Lots of space to hang out inside or out. We especially enjoyed the shaded chairs on the beach. We rented a pontoon boat and it was super easy to tie up to the dock for the week. We would definitely stay again. It was perfect! Lots of magical fireflies :-)

Summary: Unfortunately, our stay was cursed with bad luck as Grand Rapids and surrounding area including Ada, had some of the worst air quality in the world during our stay. This was a very unusual circumstance due to Canadian wildfires. So we didn't get to fully utilize this VRBO. BUT, I can still attest to the great setup, preparation, and accommodations that are offered here. Karen communicated great throughout. My wife and I hope to try again in the next summer or two to get better use of the beach next time!

Summary: The house was very clean and had pretty much everything and anything you would need. We cooked all of our meals the entire time we stayed (six days). I would recommend this property for a couple or family who is looking for a place they can stay and not feel compelled to drive into town often. If you are looking for a “pure Michigan” relaxing getaway, this is a GREAT spot.

Summary: Great set up with everything you need and great book with directions explaining things around the cottage. Great communication and check in of our needs. Huge beach and dock. The swing is such a cozy spot to start and end the day. So clean!!! Having beach towels provided is a plus and the laundry area makes it nice for being able to return home with clean clothes. The fire pit was our favorite part at night. It is in the best spot to look up at the stars. This was our second time here. We rent a cottage each summer and this is a family favorite.

Summary: This house, beach, and lake were perfect for our family of four (kids age 4 and 6) for our one week stay. The house looks exactly like the pictures and feels even bigger in person. It is the cleanest house we’ve ever stayed in! On a stormy day there was plenty of room in the living area to spread out and we appreciated all the various toys and games available that we couldn’t bring along from home (legos, duplos, magnatiles, potato heads, and lots of games for all ages). On sunny days the huge yard and shaded beach was perfect, best beach on the lake! Sandy bottom for the kids to play and jump off the dock, and the foam water pad was a bonus that they loved jumping and playing on. We enjoyed the location being only 30 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids and that it’s in range for Meijer grocery delivery! The information Karen provided in advance was very helpful and check in was a breeze. I appreciate an organized host. The only things we can think of to improve the experience would be a more comfortable mattress, blackout curtains in the kids room for the younger ones going to sleep before 9 pm sundown, and a boat to rent so we could ride around and tube on the lake. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Summary: What a perfect, relaxing getaway. Very clean upon arrival and a private place with zero traffic. Amazing view of the lake, and the kayaks that were provided was our favorite activity. Caught about a dozen bass off the dock. There's something for everyone! Highly suggest this place! Thanks for the great week :)
