Summary: We had a fantastic stay at Better Lake Than Never! The home was exactly as described - clean, comfortable, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated. Marc the host was incredibly responsive and made check-in a breeze. We especially appreciated home away from home comforts such as a surplus of fresh towels and a well-stocked kitchen with high quality cookware and utensils. The large jetted tub was clean and so very relaxing, not to mention the provided kayaks, life vests, fishing rods, tons of games - even a full badminton set and a foosball table - made our stay that much more pleasant and memorable. Since Better Lake Than Never is pet friendly, we were able to bring our shih-poo along with us, giving us peace of mind while we were away, as well as giving her the opportunity to enjoy her very first vacation! Being right on the water was absolutely beautiful! The retractable awning was a huge plus, as it allowed us to eat lunches outside in comfort. Fishing off the boat dock was so much better than expected. We caught several large catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill, perch, crappie, and a pike! We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!-The Berkeypile Family (and Izzy the dog)

Summary: We had the best time together at Better Lake Than Never! The house was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked, the kids' room was perfect and the lake was amazing! The kids in our party used the paddle boards and the kayaks every day of our stay! The house is located on a cul-de-sac and the kids played lacrosse in the street each day! We loved sitting in the screened porch or on the dock all day and then sitting around the firepit at night! Marc was very responsive and accommodating. We would love to stay at this home again!

Summary: Pros: Very nice house in a nice neighborhood, easy walk down to the water. Close to public boat ramp, with deep water. Nice dock for swimming and fishing. Dock has two boat lifts and one jet ski lift. Cons: about a 1/4 mile no wake zone from home to main lake for boating or jet skiing, no gas pump on lake near by so take your own fuel, nearest grocery store is in South Hill about a 20 mile drive. Over all house is very nice with fully equipped kitchen for cooking.

Summary: Don’t go for the view or close proximity to the grocery store. Do go for a very comfortable, kid and pet friendly vacation. You’ll have everything you need for your stay. Loads of plush towels, comfy beds, plenty of games, and a well-stocked kitchen made us feel at home. Great fishing right off the dock! If you can, rent a boat, at least for a few days.

Summary: Our family had an unbelievable time. Every single item we needed was already there plus more. Great location, great layout in the home and communication with the property manager was SO easy which was a plus. Easy drive to Dollar General and Food Lion too for last minute items for the family. Highly recommend!!!

Summary: The house and grounds were in great condition. Modern, clean, well appointed. We loved swimming, kayaking and floating off the dock. Felt safe and peaceful. We rented a pontoon for the day from the point (9 miles drive). A wonderful relaxing stay. Stock up before you visit. It is a very rural area. Perfect for a quiet family getaway.
