The Berowra Waters Cottage is a cute, quaint two bedroom cottage located right down on the waters edge. With huge sliding windows in the living area and windows right across the front of the property, you really feel like you are part of the river and gives you the feeling that you are in a boat on the water but without the rocking!
The Cottage offers winter sun all day long and with a high roof, summer time in the house is cool. Ceiling fans and air conditioning is available to assist during summer time. During winter the Cottage has excellent heating options and with the all day winter sun, the Cottage stays warm and cozy.
The private pontoon at the front of the property enables you to fish and swim directly off the front. Kayaks, a stand up paddle board (SUP) and a tinny lets you explore the river. Fishing rods are available for your use as well. There is a private swing mooring out the front of the property if you wish to bring your boat, as well as the option to put smaller boats on the pontoon.
The Berowra Waters Cottage has a lovely area outside the front on the property complete with table and chairs, BBQ, perfect for Al Fresco dining and enjoying the stunning river views.
The master bedroom has a balcony and offers excellent river views. The second bedroom offers river views from the bed and with only a few stairs to this property, it is ideal for guests looking for easy access.
Note that the stairs to the master bedroom are quite steep. Please also note that boat transfer fees for check in/out are included in your rate however an after dark fee is applicable if arriving late.
Dinning & Entertainment
One of Sydney’s most exceptional restaurants, the fabulous Berowra Waters Inn is located just two minutes away. Our friends there, Brian and Victoria, will arrange for a free pick up and drop off right to your pontoon which makes the whole experience of fine dining that little bit more special.
Mario at A Chef Secrets offers another special dining experience. Fine Italian fare is on the menu and served under the stars and right beside the water. Fully licenced, this restaurant is a short boat ride from the property and is open for lunch Wednesday through to Sunday and Dinner on Friday and Saturday. Night time transfers can be arranged.
Berowra Waters, your ideal NSW holiday destination offers excellent bushwalking, fantastic river fishing, absolute waterfront dining, a range of attractions, water sports and things to do. The Great North Walk runs through Berowra Waters for those who wish to take a stroll and seek out the native Waratah's, Boronia and Flannel flowers and local fauna. If you are lucky you might even catch a glimpse of a wallaby or a goanna but there are plenty of native birds to see.

Summary: The property owner Sue Elliott was lovely, helpful, and responsive. She clearly works hard.Note that the listing says on-site parking, but you actually need to leave your car at Berowra Waters Marina as the property is only accessible by boat. Sue will provide a transfer to the property when you arrive. Thereafter, a tinny is provided during your stay, but it’s unreliable (barely faster than idle, stalls repeatedly, and often doesn't start) so we felt a bit trapped indoors. Boat transfers are available for 80, but require advanced booking.Dinner at nearby 'A Chef’s Secret' was absolutely amazing, highly recommend! Unfortunately we had to rush our meals due to the dodgy tinny as we were worried about it not getting us back by nightfall. The views from the property are absolutely stunning and were the best part of our stay. The kitchen and bathroom are renovated, clean, and well-equipped. The lounge soft furnishings are very dirty/stained and need a deep clean. Upstairs has two cluttered rooms off the main bedroom. Balcony is unsafe and can't be used. Beds are beautifully made and comfortable. Outdoor area needs a sweeping and cleanup. The property is 'cosy' - don't expect hotel conditions! Breakfast was sourdough, wheatbix or muesli, apricot jam or marmalade. However only 1 L milk was provided for a family of 4 over 3 nights, so suggest you buy more at the store before arriving. We fished from the property and caught a huge flathead and bream - definitely worth a try!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay. It was a first for us staying in a boat-only accessible home and although there was things to learn and consider differently it was a very unique experience. We loved the fishing and kayaks - it’s so peaceful and we got to wind down. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and the communication was clear and we felt connected despite bring ‘disconnected’! The complimentary breakfast items were a lovely touch. We took our dog too and he loved it!

Summary: We recently stayed for five nights and had been looking forward to really relaxing and being lazy.....and it was perfect! The property was exactly as it how it was depicted....it was just wonderful to wake up and have breakfast right on the water every morning. The only noise were the sounds of the sea planes coming and going at Berowra Waters Inn just round the corner and the lapping of the water as boats passed. We brought some of our own supplies - food, toiletries - and found that we only really needed to bring any snacks and dinner as breakfast was supplied and there was shampoo and everything that you would need provided. It truly is a magical place and Sue, the lovely manager, eased any worries about things like starting the boat and is on hand at any time. She's just terrific. We will definitely be returning but will not be as lazy next time and will actually use the boat and the paddle boards and leave the place! I would recommend staying here to really relax. We were very lucky to be able to bring our little foxy with us and she also enjoyed just lying around and chasing the occasional lizard. My husband has footballer knees which need to be seen to but he managed the few stairs at the front, only to grab a beer/refreshment to return to the pontoon, which he hardly left, to continue fishing and the occasional paddle in the river. We had a really great time and shall be back....

Summary: Definitely a very unique experience staying by the waters, with commute around the area via tinny. Sue was an amazing host and made sure we felt comfortable and welcomed throughout our stay with clear instructions on how we should manage the different experiences.

Summary: Had a very relaxing weekend away on the Cottage! Stunning location, right on the water so you can relax with the sound of water lapping up against the property and plenty of birds chirping away! Lots of things to do or just chill with a book. Highly recommend.
