Positive: We had a great stay at Ben View Phoenix Hotel. Graham was such a bubbly and fantastic host, and he really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I arrived later than planned in the evening after a 12-hour trip from Norfolk, and Graham already had a dinner table ready for me. The kitchen was ready to start cooking straight away, which was very much appreciated after such a long journey. Yes, the place is a little rough around the edges, but the food was exceptional — hats off to the chef. The location was perfect for our work trip while we were working on the Glenborrodale Estate, and the parking was great too. The beds were okay, but what really stood out was how accommodating the staff were. We accidentally booked the room for two people when we meant to book for one, and Graham sorted it out with no problem at all. He refunded us the difference and found a fair way to make it work so that we were looked after, he didn’t lose out, and Booking.com still received their commission. I would definitely stay again.

Negative: The hotel is a little rough around the edges in places, and the beds were okay rather than great. That said, the excellent food, helpful staff, good parking, and perfect location more than made up for it.

Positive: Excellent breakfast. Excellent evening meals. The quality of the fish and prawns served was very good. The owner and the cook went above and beyond to look after me and my dog and I will definitely return if I get a chance. The hotel is well sited within a very scenic part of Scotland.

Summary: Great value for money. Very relaxing stay. Good place to stay with a dog.

Positive: The host Graham could not be more of a host. From communication prior to staying, and his warm welcome during my stay, he truly exceeded any expectations. The sauna was a perfect and unexpected addition to the stay as was the fresh cooked Highlands breakfast each morning. Free parking on site and waking up to the sound of a burn and the birds.

Positive: The host where 10 out of 10 and from the minute I arrived my stay was prefect from checking in early to breakfast The room was very clean and bed was very comfortable, shower was warm and very easy to control Breakfast was 10 out of 10 and locally produced but most importantly loads to keep me going through the day Graham was very helpful on places to visit over my 3 days and 2 night so much so am planning to stay there in the future ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
