Summary: Staying a week at Nicole‘s gîte was just perfect. It is absolutely calm up there and I‘ve never seen a swimming pool that is so well taken care of- absolutely clean! The gîte is huge, the kitchen also well-equipped and the surrounding villages are really worth a visit (especially the night markets). Moreover, Nicole is a perfect host and we thank her for this really great experience!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Pigeon Tower. The gite is very restful and Nicole the owner did all she could to make our stay with a baby as convenient as possible, bringing out all the baby facilities for us to use. The swimming pool can be used between 10am and 6pm and is just wonderful. Our 5 year old son particularly enjoyed it. The area is quite rural so very relaxing. The closest bastide Monsegur is really lovely and the night market on Wednesday was quite enjoyable. Another great point is that the gite backs onto a wine farm, Chateau de la tuileries. The wine is so good and reasonable and the wine tasting was a very authentic experience. Thank you for a great stay x

Summary: The Gite was in a stunning location, full of character, spotlessly clean and remained cool as the temperatures soared. The pool was well maintained, clean and warm. The perfect way to spend hot days.

Summary: My friend and I very much enjoyed our stay at Pigeonnier du Puy. The well converted pigeon loft and barn sit in a peaceful rural setting with lovely views. The reception room is spacious and airy with comfortable seating and a large dining table. Most mornings we were able to eat breakfast outside on the terrace. There is WiFi and the TV can receive English channels. The kitchen is quite small but pretty well equipped. The main bedroom and it’s en suite bathroom are large and comfortable. The pool is clear blue with plenty of loungers and pool accessories. As the 2 of us are quite elderly women who speak only basic French we were a bit daunted by the pool cover which is like a roof, has to be pulled across and fixed at the back in bad weather. But we managed it OK and the walk down the hill with the rubbish bin. We thought the second bedroom, in the pigeon loft, would make a very pretty single bedroom but was very cramped with 2 adult beds in it and, therefore very difficult to get at the small clothes cupboard. 2 children might be happy. The loo and shower are fine. On arrival we were met and shown round by a young woman who has no English at all and couldn’t really explain the equipment so we were very pleased to find appliance notes and general instructions in English. Nicole, the owner manager was not on site but she speaks fluent english and was quick and helpful over the phone. All in all we were very happy at the Pigeonnier du Puy. We swam a lot, met old friends in the area that we know well, and drank excellent wine from the nearby Château.

Summary: Well equipped and in a very quiet rural position. As we were visiting my niece nearby we didn’t really wander far so cannot comment on the surroundings other than to say it’s a beautiful part of France we know well. The only negative comment would be that there were some large cobwebs in the bathrooms and higher up the walls,, all the same an enjoyable stay.

Summary: My husband and I stayed here for a week and had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time. We were looking for the peace and quiet of the French countryside and we certainly found it here. Set on a hill with gorgeous views of the surrounding valley, the gîte itself has been beautifully designed to include all the comforts of home and more. We like to cook most of our meals and found the kitchen to be very spacious and well-equipped for this purpose. There's a large dining table inside as well as one on the patio. We really enjoyed being able to eat outside when the weather permitted. The pool provides a refreshing and relaxing way to spend the afternoon when not out and about or when you return from an adventure and need to cool off. The master bedroom is very large with a comfortable bed and spacious en-suite bathroom including a tub and a separate tiled shower. There is even a half-bath off the living room so others don't have to intrude on your personal space. Upstairs in the pigeon tower is another well-designed bathroom and two single beds. We did not need to make use of this space, but it would be perfect for a family with two children or even teenagers. One of the gîte's unique features is the underfloor heating and cooling system. Since we were traveling during a bit of a heat wave, we really appreciated this. We were cool and comfortable throughout our stay. If you stay here during the summer, make sure to check out the Marché Nocturne (night market) on Wednesdays in nearby Monségur. We enjoyed being able to share a small part of local French culture. There are many food stalls from which you can purchase your dinner and plenty of covered seating where you can listen enjoy live music and dancing. If you prefer, you can have dinner at one of the restaurants surrounding the square. We chose Le Grand Cep and were extremely pleased with the very reasonably priced gourmet "menu" that was served in the style of a 5-star restaurant. It was absolutely delicious! Our host, Nicole, did everything to make our stay pleasant. She checked on us often to see whether or not we needed anything, but was not instrusive. This was probably our best of many gîte experiences yet. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Summary: We could not have found a more peaceful, idyllic place to stay. Nicole was a great host, nothing was too much trouble. The pigeonnier was wonderful, had everything we needed, the pool was amazing and Nicole was very flexible and kind with letting us have it for longer in the evening if she was out, not a problem to have family over for some pool fun. Would recommend without hesitation and we will certainly be back.

Summary: Le Pigeonnier’ is a pleasant and quiet country house, renovated in style and comfortably furnished, with a shady terrace. From the tower you have a splendid view over the hills to Monségur, an ancient ‘bastide’ from 13th century. Each year in July a sprawling jazz festival takes place in Monségur, ‘Les 24heures du Swing’. We have come here already for several years, and now we are looking forward to take a dive into the swimming pool, that was completed last year. Nicole is very helpful and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Onno
