Summary: Quarante is a charming old village, with a wonderful bakery, set in the beautiful French countryside and the mansion is a wonderful place for a large group to stay. We had 10 adults and 8 children in our family group and there was more than enough space for us all. The large garden with its pool is a huge asset. The property is old and despite the renovation to include modern features such as numerous bathrooms it is full of character. The kitchen is well equiped (although we were unable to use the microwave) and providing meals and coffee for our group was not a problem. The local agent was helpful and responsive and also runs a catering business which meant she was able to assist us providing delicious food and balloons for a family party. We enjoyed days out to the beach and to Carcassonne and also took a boat trip along Canal du Midi. We all had the most wonderful holiday and would definitely return.
