Private property for your exclusive use, La Bastide de Couvinens dates from 1850 and benefits from very old architectural elements (original stone floor, large old fireplace, old bread oven) probably from an old castle. It is quietly located in a hamlet of 5 houses, at 2 km from Montcuq-en-Quercy Blanc, a Medieval village where you will find all kind of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, rental electrical bikes shop, municipal lake designed for swimming and fishing with supervised white sand beach and water games in summer.
The house includes an equipped kitchen, a living-dining room with fireplace, SmartTV and DVD, free WIFI, a double bedroom with ensuite shower room and WC, a bedroom with 2 single beds which can be converted into a King size bed on demand, an independant bathroom and WC, a large attic bedroom (please note that we can not stand everywhere because it is an attic room) 2 single beds there, a WC and washbasin. Access to this 3rd bedroom is via a steep staircase.
You can enjoy the swimming pool and the covered terrace (with Professionnal gas plancha) and if the weather is too cool, you can try the Nordic bath ! It's a unique way to relax in the middle of nature, to the sound of the burning fire (the water is heated by a wood stove inside the bath). Enjoy the silence of nature, only the songs of the birds accompany you in this magical experience. A Nordic bath is included in your rental but for repeated use over several days, an additional 70 euros will be requested for participation in wood costs.
Wild garden of 8000 m2 adjoining and near the kitchen, thyme and rosemary available to cook good meals. In summer you can taste figs and peaches (all organic of course) from our garden, you just have to pick it up! And for fun: badminton court, table tennis, books, games.
Also, being a teacher of Hatha Yoga, member of the FNPY, I can give you a private lesson : we will practice on the terrace (course to be paid on site).
You will also have the opportunity to book a massage at the Les Fées Zen Beauty Institute in Montcuq, 2km away.(10% discount if you go through me)
Staying at La Bastide de Couvinens also means experimenting with ecological gestures: our towels are made of organic cotton, our cleaning products are organic whenever possible and we encourage you to compost.

Summary: The house and its location is absolutely stunning. The children loved the pool and the pool area has lots of different areas both shaded and in the sunshine. We loved sitting out with a drink in the evening, listening to the sounds of nature and nothing else. So peaceful. The accommodation is very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, the showers have good pressure and hot water and the living area is cosy with Netflix etc on the tv plus a lot of dvds to choose from. The owner, Valerie, is attentive and quick to respond but otherwise left us alone to enjoy our holiday. We have had a wonderful time and would recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to experience the peace and quiet of rural life in a beautiful area of France. We are sad to leave.

Summary: Beautiful house better than photos, so many historic features. Host has made it homely and provides everything you need for self catering. Perfect location, easy to find but no noise at all, just bliss. We both relaxed and even the dog felt right at home. A very special place.

Summary: We had an amazing stay in this country house. The location was amazing, we did a lot of hikes and villages visits. Valerie was very nice hostess, she had provided us with good activity tips which were very helpful: like Sunday market at Motcuq and nice hikes around the house. Kids had a lot of fun playing and sunbathing in the garden. There was pingpong table, badminton rackets and yoga mats. Also Scandinavian bath was very nice to take in the evenings - very special experience!

Summary: This was the most interesting and beautiful house we have ever stayed in. Original stone walls and stone floors, yet the plumbing and electrical all updated. Amazing backyard with pool, 3 sitting areas, and BarBQ. Surrounded by trees and countryside but only a short 5 minute drive to Montcuq. Our host, Valerie, went above and beyond to make our stay great. This place was worth every penny.

Summary: Lovely property in a little hamlet close to Montcuq, a beautiful little town with a few restaurants and a great wine shop! Some great mountain bike and hiking routes close by. The owner, Valérie, was most helpful throughout our 3 week stay and communication with her was excellent. Highly recommended.

Summary: A really lovely property - ideally suited for couples or a small/young family. Valérie is a very diligent and helpful host: available if needed but otherwise happy to leave guests free to enjoy themselves. The temperature was hot (over 35C the whole week) but we managed to explore the local area on foot and visit Cahors by car. The large pool was understandably very welcome but the outdoor space in general is perfect for al fresco dining. Montcuq (around 25 minutes walk away) is a nice village with cafés and a helpful Information Centre. One tip: the local supermarket is quite basic so best to shop in a larger town for more choice. Great holiday - thanks!
