Summary: We enjoyed staying in this large property. It's clearly a personal but beloved home from home but it's comfortable - if you like the French quiet life, alfresco dining and rural it's lovely. Well located for Calais. Some bathrooms and bedrooms a little bit tired - but the lounge is lovely and it's all about the gardenand patio really. Pizza oven was an exciting experience, and the local restaurant in Hesdin was excellent.

Summary: We had the most lovely week in a beautiful country setting. Pretty walks and very quiet area. Fabulous place for our large family. Very comfortable and homely.

Summary: We spent two weeks at Le Verger and had a fantastic time. Our family range from 4-74 and the house was perfect for our needs. The bedrooms were well spaced out and comfortable - we didn't ever feel like we were crowded or 'on top of each other'. There were a good number of bathrooms and toilets too, which is handy for a large group. Our bedroom was great as it had a wall of bookshelves with a fantastic collection of books to read. The master bedroom with the bath was another great room. The lounge was a good size for gathering, with extra comfortable seating in the kitchen. The kitchen itself was well kitted out for our needs. There was plenty of space to eat both indoors and outdoors. Outside - the grounds are large with a number of good places to sit. We had many games of boules! The shed contains bikes and some outdoor toys etc, which is a great touch. Some members of the family enjoyed playing ping pong as well. The pizza oven was a great hit and a lovely addition for the holiday. The owners were very responsive to our questions and needs, which made the experience all the better. The house has been renovated very well -sympathetic to the original building but with good modern additions, including good wifi, which the teenagers particularly were grateful for! There were a lot of helpful added touches, including a good number of plug adapters for our UK plugs and a hairdryer. Nearby, Hesdin is a great town with good places to eat. The market there on a Thursday is extensive and well worth a visit. We also visited Denleys Parc, which is a theme park with rides. Very reasonable and plenty of spaces to bring your own picnic. There was a lovely tabac nearby, which some members of our group really enjoyed visiting and the beach at Le Touquet was a great hit! Some of our family also went to use the farm vending machine in Cavron, which was unexpected! The church next to the property also had some war graves which were very moving. All in all, it was a great holiday and we are very glad we booked this house - only an hour or so from Calais as well, which was a great bonus. I would highly recommend, especially for large families.

Summary: Everything about Le Verger has been said in previous reviews and is correct so what can I add? The rooms are larger than the photographs depict and the garden vast and safe for children with rabbits at the bottom. The weather was surprisingly good allowing us to take advantage of the two BBQ's but the star of the show was the pizza oven which was a wonder to the menfolk who we had to stop cooking everything in it!! On the subject of pizza, at the bottom of the lane is the pizza vending machine which had to be tried as it was a most unexpected find in a little French village. I feel I must also mention the kite festival at Berk which was about 45 mins away. It is like no other kite festival I have ever seen and was a wonder to the grandchildren. Our stay was a real joy and was so successful for all ages from 3 to 70 that we may well make it an annual event.

Summary: We so enjoyed staying in your lovely house. Everything was comfortable, warm and well-equipped. We had a really great weekend - and Le Verger was the perfect setting. The kitchen had everything we needed to cater for a large group, and we enjoyed relaxing around the fireplace in the evenings. Nearby Montreuil was a great place to stock up with produce from the market, gorgeous bread and cheeses. The glorious sunny weather was a bonus, and we've returned to the UK refreshed and relaxed.

Summary: We had an amazing stay at Le Verger. The house is beautifully appointed and well equipped for a big group. The kitchen is a great focal point and we enjoyed making many great meals there, the double dishwashers was essential when catering for 13! The house is in a beautiful valley and a great location for exploring. Loved it.

Summary: Lovely House with large garden, ample outside covered seating especially on a lovely summers evening, with table tennis, plenty of space for a game of rounders. Inside was very spacious with many boxed games and books galore. The kitchen was a cooks paradise. Plenty of information for the house and for places to visit. 16 of us had a great time.

Summary: After travelling south from Calais through open fields, the close wooded valleys around Le Verger come as a sudden and pleasant setting. The house stands alone overlooking the old church on one side, the village on another, and open country on the other – watch out for deer flitting across now and then. The surrounding villages are picture-book representations of this part of France, and yet you are within easy reach of some fascinating cultural visits. The house exceeds expectations as for furnishings and comfort; you feel at home as soon as you arrive. All the stuff you need is there: an excellent kitchen, good lounging areas, comfortable bedrooms, and bathrooms with good shower pressure! I could go and on…we are looking for the next opportunity to visit Le Verger.

Summary: Our petit sejour in Wambercourt was very busy but delightful. Everything went well and my husband enjoyed his birthday celebrations very much. The house suited our needs perfectly with plenty of space for a group aged between 18 months and 70 years! The cows in the field next door were a source of great excitement for the 18 month old and the 3 year old and the table tennis tournament between the 40-somethings became rather competitive and quite violent at times! We found great restaurants in nearby Hesdin, and the Thursday market was a joy. We came home stocked up with delicious cheeses and charcuterie. It was a lovely week.
