Summary: Not only is Albas an absolutely gorgeous little village, but this gîte des Roses is perfect. The apartment has everything that you could want set In the grounds of an amazing house. The hosts are so friendly and helpful, they go beyond what we expected e.g. vegetables from the garden, friendly chat and information, aperitifs and nibbles, bicycles. We were absolutely amazed. You will love the artistic ambience to this gîte. We are definitely returning next year. THANK YOU very much for making us feel so welcome and giving us the perfect holiday. Dickie and MonkO.x

Summary: Couldn’t fault the property itself but was surprised none of the previous reviews I had read mentioned the small electrical generating apparatus on the weir directly opposite. The constant hum detracted from the pleasure of eating out on the lovely little balcony. At night with the windows closed it was fine. One morning it wasn’t running so perhaps it is a seasonal thing due to the extraordinary amount of rain they had had?

Summary: We had a wonderful month in this gite overlooking the river Lot. Well equipped and full of character it provided us with a home away from home. Observing spring weather and all the delights that accompany it made the days memorable. There is so much to see in the area and we had many interesting day trips driving in all directions. Alain and Jeanne were great hosts and we thank them for sharing part of their property with us.

Summary: Annually we spend at least 1 month in France instead of buying a property. This year we chose "les Roses".It was a perfect choice. French owners are on site and are charming, discreet but most personable. The gite ( originally the millwheel housing of "l'ancien moulin") has been tastefully renovated. The thick, limestone walls make for a quiet apartement - the view from the 1st floor balcony is exceptional, over the river, where herons, egrets and cormorants are very active. Walks in all directions on solid ground are available for strollers, hikers or cyclists. There is an excellent LiO/SNCF bus service (890 & 891) within easy walking distance. La Guingette is 400 m from the gite, where the food & drinks (in season) are recommended - we were frequently there. Fruit from the garden ( framboise, figues & apples) appeared on the balcony table. Our hosts ( Jeanne & Alain Creunier) were most accommodating despite our 'fractured french'. I was particularly grateful for the cool garage as a place to leave our little, open car in the unusually high temperatures this month. We having nothing but happy memories of our stay.

Summary: The Creuniers were lovely from the moment we met them last year in 2022. Both gîtes were amazingly designed and furnished. My wife and I stayed in the 1 bedroom gite. This had a balcony view of the river and gardens, large lounge kitchen, bedroom and shower room. The kitchen was very well equipped - thank you Mme Creunier. Mme Creunier even left us fresh produce from her garden. Our friends had the larger house/gite which was almost the equivalent price. The house was LARGE for 2 people and can accommodate more people. The level of furnishings and equipment was ‘out of this world’ - thank you M and Mme Creunier.

Summary: Gite les Roses in Albas is the perfect holiday get away. The rolling hills and the soothing river waters are so relaxing. Unhappily, our satellite navigation sent us in the wrong direction once we entered Albas, but after speaking with owner we found our way to the cutest gite. which is down by the river. Our hosts, Jeanne and Alain Creunier are community members who understand the history and the festivities of the village of Albas. The photographs say everything about this delightful gite. The accommodation is clean and equipped with all needed amenities. There is under floor heating throughout the gite, and the bed is so comfortable. There is much to do in the area of Albas from visiting the Tuscan Gardens in the village, to exploring the prehistoric cave painting at Pech Merle Grotto, and there is bicycle rental just a few hundred yards away from the gite. Whether you want to explore the sights and sounds of the Albas area, or simply take it easy and enjoy the quiet of the countryside, this is the place to be. Thank you Jeanne and Alain Creunier for a vacarion to remember.

Summary: Beautifully renovated apartment with stone floors, stained-glass windows, moden kitchen and bath and everything you need to enjoy the beautiful countryside and striking village of Albas. The photos tell the whole story, except for all the possibilities of taking walks and buying locally produced wines, having coffee and croissants at the village bar, lunch or dinner at the local restaurant just down the street from the apartment, which also has entertainment. Plus there many bastide villages within an hour of Albas. They asked for a short review so I will stop now. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
