4 Bedroom House in Queensland

This is a beautiful, large, four bedroom, two full bathroom home. The property borders Whynaughts beach (sandy beach) on the Atlantic ocean and is 40 min from Halifax on Nova Scotia's South shore. It is surrounded by a vibrant community and immersed in local culture. The north border of the property is on "Rum Runners Trail", a scenic 107 km groomed trail (ideal for biking, walking, four wheeling, or snowmobiling) stretching from Halifax to the town of Lunenburg. Peggy's Cove, and other scenic drives and sites, are located close by giving you an experience of quintessential Nova Scotia life.
The home has four large bedrooms (with generous closet space and drawers). The morning views from the two front upstairs bedrooms are spectacular as you watch the local fishing boats go to work. It has a very large, fully equipped kitchen. It also has a spacious living room with ample lounging areas and the views are AMAZING! It is ideal for either single family or multiple families. A full size washer and dryer is located in the upstairs bathroom. A large front deck with chairs overlooking the beach is a perfect place to watch your children play if a full day at the beach is not your thing. The front deck is equipped with a cooking grill. There is also large deck in the back. A coffee bar complete with a Keurig and coffee maker is located in the dining room.
The home comes equipped with a portable child's crib and high chair if requested. Air conditioning is located in each room (except the children's room due to fire code regulations) as well as the downstairs living space. Internet ready 4K TV, wifi, cable, Netflix, and a landline (local calls only) are provided. The home has great cell phone reception.
A large grocery store and other large town amenities are located 12 minutes away in Upper Tantallon. Smaller stores are located nearby. Additional cottages rented by other owners are located next door if larger groups are wanting to travel.
This is a non-smoking rental. Check in is 3 pm and check out is 10am. However, if no rental is reserved either right before or right after, these times are flexible.
There is a fireplace in the living room that is available for use. An initial pile of wood will be provided.
There is ample parking both in the front and rear of the house.

Summary: Our family of five stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful stay. The place is comfy and there is plenty of lounging space for all of us. Love having all the games and books. The kitchen is very well equipped (the best we have had after renting many places over the years.) There is so much to explore in this area. Doug and Kelly are great hosts!

Summary: This house was spacious, immaculate; beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and an amazing view of the ocean! I loved watching the sunrise every morning. This was a good base for us to see the area from Halifax to Peggy's Cove to Lunenburg. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in this beautiful home!

Summary: This house is centrally located for visiting many of the most popular destinations along the South Shore. It is very near several beaches and just a few minutes drive from the restaurants and a grocer in Hubbards. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, it is also thoughtfully supplied for visitors, e.g. boxes of tissue paper and night lights in every room. The hosts respond quickly and are most helpful.

Summary: Can't beat the views and we have stayed at over 20 VRBO's. Beach down the road and although the street can be a bit busy it was still quiet. Great location for getting around including Halifax not being that far away. Good communication and stocked kitchen.

Summary: Five retired ladies on our 24th year of w/ends away and have to say this was one of the best! The house is stocked with everything you need for your stay and the ocean directly across the street is a game changer! We went to two beaches in the area and a lovely market just down the street on Sat. Our group will definitely rent this property again, the hosts were excellent with their communication and answering any questions we had.

Summary: Great stay for friends and families A beautiful home that is so well decorated with the beach theme. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The host has thought of so many tiny little things to make your stay comfortable. The view from the front door is so magnificent and unreal. We used the bbq as well and enjoyed our time visiting nearby towns. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and we used the many amenities that came with the house. We were two families and the kids had a fun time at the beach. The place is truly a gem. I highly recommended this place.

Summary: We absolutely LOVED this cottage. It is very spacious, clean, well appointed with everything you could need, including beach towels and chairs! I reached out to the owners several times and they responded very quickly. The location is heavenly - right across the street from a beech. We were four adults and four kids. There was a swing for them to play on and lots of deck space for them to spread out on. My husband really enjoyed the selection of books and read three in just one week. I can't say enough good about this cottage!

Summary: Doug and Kelly’s home in Queensland was lovely. It is very clean and brightly decorated. All the bedrooms were large and comfortable. It was great for the rooms to have their own Lenox heating/cooling system for individual comfort. The bathroom was generously supplied with beautiful towels and convenient laundry facilities. They were wonderful hosts, understanding of our delayed arrival due to the IT outage, and responsive to our questions and needs. It is very conveniently located to Halifax one way and Lunenborg and Peggy’s Cove the other way. There were 7 of us in our group and it was very comfortable. We would be happy to stay again if we return to Nova Scotia.
