La Choya House | Beautiful Home Only a Block 1/2 from the Ocean

2 Bedroom House in La Choya, Bahia la choya

This luxury 2 bedroom home features a 1953 GMC travel bus as the kitchen! The property
began as just the bus and over the years was expanded to include 2 bedroom suites (with full
bathrooms) and a breezeway featuring a fire pit and string lights. The entire property has been
recently renovated and updated. It’s a mixture of Old Cholla Vintage and modern-day amenities!
The best part is that the beach is just a half block away.
This space accommodates six guests with two bedrooms, five beds, and two bathrooms. The
primary suite, featuring beautiful bay views, has a king bed and kitchenette so you can make
your coffee from the comfort of the room. Downstairs, you'll find a bunk room housing two twin beds, a queen murphy bed, and a chair that folds into a twin bed in the living room. This home is attached to a 1953 GMC Travel Bus parked on the base of a mountain. The bus is fully renovated and houses a full kitchen with everything you’ll need for cooking. Between the bus and the home, a lovely breezeway features a fire pit, outdoor seating, and a picnic table. The downstairs bathroom is located off the breezeway. With an incredible location and abundant outdoor space, this property is fantastic for those who want to experience the excellent weather and beauty of Cholla Bay.
A/C and Heat/Heat:
We have two 2 1/2 ton mini-splits, and they are turned on and off by the remotes provided. Please turn the A/C down when you are not in the unit or leaving for the day not to use excessive electricity.
Water tanks are in the back of the house. Please check every two days to see if they need to be filled. Julio's number is on the refrigerator, or you can text me, and I can get ahold of him. Don't let them get too low; sometimes, Cholla runs out of water.
Garbage: Please don't keep trash inside the house; use garbage bins provided outside and empty garbage bins from inside regularly. This keeps bad smells out of the house for future guests.
Garbage collection day is Tuesday and Saturday morning. Please make sure the garbage cans are put out in front of the gate the night before.
Laundry: There is no access to our washing machine and dryer since it is in the garage with our personal items.
If you stay for a longer time, then Chiki, our cleaning lady, will come and do laundry for you.
If she picks it up and takes it to town to wash, then she charges $40.00.
She charges $24.00 to come to the house and wash the laundry in the garage. This will use more water, and then you will have the extra expense of possibly needing to fill the tanks.

Summary: This is a newly renovated building that is attractive and clean. We stayed mostly in the master upstairs. The upstairs mattress is very comfortable and the small kitchen area is very useful. All the patios are great for hanging out and getting varying levels of sun. The host is very responsive and helpful. The shower does take a little while to warm up in the winter, so stack your showers together.

Summary: We stayed during Labor Day weekend 2022 and we enjoyed our time there. The place was very clean with plenty of space to relax indoors and outdoors. The neighborhood was quiet which I enjoyed. The owners quickly responded to our questions and resolved any issues we had. Promptly. We will definitely stay there again.

Summary: We had originally planned to stay in a different area of Puerto Penasco, but this rental became available right before we reserved, and we are SO glad we spent our week here. The setup was extremely comfortable and perfect for our family of 6, including 4 big kids (ages 10-16) who loved staying in the bus space. The kitchen was very well stocked with both quantity and quality dishes, pans, cutlery, etc. to allow us to really cook as much as we wanted. The area of Cholla Bay felt like a small, friendly community, and it was a beautiful, great place to be in itself as well as a great landing spot that allowed us to venture out into the rest of the surrounding area. Dawn is an incredible host who, even from a distance, always responded quickly to any questions we had and made us feel we were welcome guests. Benjamin handles details on site and was readily available, friendly, and welcoming. Not a detail was missed. It’s the kind of place you’d be happy to make an annual tradition! Highly recommend!!

Summary: First of all this place was very nicely put together. I’m glad we stayed there, the beds are comfy, the two kitchens are fully stocked with everything you need. Patio area was relaxing, a/c units blast cold air. Updated bathrooms and fully stocked with towels and blankets. TV’s and internet connection as well. Host communicates very fast and is available and attentive. I’d stay here again thx Dawn!

Summary: This place has room to stretch out and RELAX! From the amazing view from the master suite balcony to the spacious patio to the amply stocked kitchen to the gated driveway this place feels like home. The care taker, Benjamin, was available at a moment's notice - no matter the need. Dawn, the owner, was equally responsive and accommodating throughout our stay. When we packed up and were ready to leave Benjamin gave a big hug and said he hopes to see us again soon. I hope so, too. We will definitely stay here again!
