Summary: A truly beautiful and lovely place tucked into the medieval town of Aigne. It is the perfect spot for losing yourself... or finding yourself. I would like to come back and stay for a month so that I can write my books.

Summary: This is a charming, cozy, well-appointed home in a tiny, tiny village. I visited in the early spring, when the weather was unpredictable and the village was nearly deserted. Guests should know that the only commercial establishments in Aigne are a gourmet restaurant (excellent), two art galleries (closed when I was there) and two wineries (closed for tasting during my visit). So Olonzac, 8 km. down the road, will be one's source for everything from a croissant to a gas tank fill-up. But Aigne is well-located for exploring this lovely region of France. The kitchen is well-equipped, beds comfortable with high-end linens, and there's ample artificial light -- necessary because the house is tucked between two others at the end of a short alley, so natural light is limited, and there is no real view. The only space for tucking away clothing consists of a mezzanine level accessible by what I would characterize as a ladder, rather than a stair. The washer and dryer work well, and hot water is immediate and plentiful. The owner has provided a wealth of informational brochures about things to do in the region, restaurant recommendations, etc., and she kept in close touch with me before and during my visit. I enjoyed my stay, and plan to return later in the season to explore more of the Cathar castles and wineries in the area and feel more of the energy I'm sure develops as the weather improves. The property manager is extremely gracious and helpful. I so wanted to give it five stars. However, I was seeking a place for a stay of a month or longer later in the year, and I knew it wouldn't work for that. So the four star rating reflects my very personal assessment based on my specific need.

Summary: First impression was that it was romantic and inviting and made you feel like you were home. It has all the amenities you would want, including a washer and dryer, and the kitchen was so well stocked with equipment that it invited you to cook there. Every night I went to bed to a warm fireplace lulling me to sleep. As a photographer, I love to travel and capture various subjects. This perfectly situated country home allowed me the geographical flexibility to explore. You can take a day trip to Barcelona, the French Riviera, Provence, the Pyrenees mountains, as well as stay locally and see the abundant markets and vineyards. I was there when they were harvesting the grapes and it was wonderful to see first hand. I would greatly recommend this to all of my friends and I cannot wait to go back there again, myself, in the spring.

Summary: This carefully and beautifully appointed little place welcomed us to the quiet and peace of the French countryside after a week in Paris. Everything was clean and in good working order with lots of information about activities in the area provided. Our village had a wonderful gourmet restaurant but we also traveled to other villages for day markets and evening meals. Locals in the village were friendly and helpful. Lots of fun traveling the beautiful french countryside! We even made a trip to Barcelona for a few days. Biking along the canal was great fun. We had not planned on cooking meals in our place but after picking up fresh food at the market and wine at the many wineries, and having a kitchen with every possible amenity at our disposal, we did cook and eat some at home. This property is a wonderfully warm and romantic retreat for a couple or small family. I have recommended it to my friends and family.

Summary: We had such a nice time during our stay in Aigne. Quiet, romatinc, relaxing. The house is beautiful, with wonderful amenities and excellent attention to detail. We particularly loved the copper pots and the gourmet stove! The location is fabulous, in the Laungedouc wine region and near to Carcassone, Minerve and the sea. There is so much information available at the house about things to do in the area, including markets, and the owner was so helpful. We had everything we needed, including perfect weather, and we would definitely recommend this house to friends. Thank you!

Summary: The converted stable makes a lovely, cozy house. The first thing you see is a table in a sweet, shady, courtyard like setting. We slept downstairs in a comfortable bed. The kitchen, upstairs, is well-appointed and we enjoyed cooking and dining during our 5-day stay. The things we appreciated are universally popular, i.e., washer and drier, and internet, both of which are available. We were there in late summer and the temperature, in the house, was perfect. It is also conveniently located near several other small villages. We liked driving around and Kimmie had provided us with maps and a comprehensive list of things to see and do. I, wholeheartedly, recommend the little house in Aigne, Languedoc, for a sweet vacation stop.
