A stunning 120 year old stone farm house lovingly restored in a French style (stone walls and oak beams etc) but with modern, open and comfortable living space (over 2,700 square feet).
There are 4 large double rooms (all with views) and one super large room with 4 single beds (we also have a camp bed and 2 cots available) and 3 large family bathrooms.
It is located in Domaine de Pradines (near Saint Andre de Roquelongue) - a charming hamlet; a cluster of 3 former wine buildings around a small chateau in the heart of the (protected) Parc Naturel Regional de Narbonaise. It is in a lovely peaceful location but not remote and is close to towns, shops and restaurants.
The village is about 15 km from the "Lézignan Corbières" or "Narbonne sud" exit of the A61 motorway. By train, the nearest station is Narbonne. By plane, you will arrive from Beziers, Toulouse, Montpellier, Carcassonne, Perpignan or Girona (Spain).
The house sits on the side of a valley, surrounded by vineyards and with stunning views over the Corbierre Hills.
The large outside private pool (which can be heated on request at a small extra cost) and garden is perfect for sunbathing / BBQ/ kids play area. The house is also well equipped for family entertainment with (free) Wi-Fi, TV, a table tennis table, mountain bikes, swing, table football, magnetic darts board and many other games. Guests may also use the telephone which is free for all land-line calls in Europe.
The feature most remarked upon by our guests, is the terrace balcony outside the kitchen which is the perfect spot to eat 'Al Fresco' and admire the views over the hills, vineyards and pool terrace.
We fell in love with the house when we first saw it in 2010, and had to make an offer on it straight away! It feels peaceful, with only the sounds of the wildlife (mostly cicadas, birds and toads) to be heard and yet it is at the centre of all the good things to do in the Languedoc as well as being only a short cycle-ride away to pick-up your baguettes in the near-by shops.
We bought and refurbished it for ourselves and later decided to rent it out for others to enjoy. That means that you feel that you are staying in in a home rather than a bland holiday rental.
The area is in a great location, central for all the activities (beach, Carcassonne, Canal du Midi, Beziers and Narbonne) and other main towns but with a quiet country feeling.

Top Floor: Spacious top Mezzanine floor with 4 single beds (ideal for children) + games area (NB this is a large open plan room on the way to the other 2 top floor bedrooms), and 2 double bedrooms. 1st Floor: 1 spacious double bedroom. Ground floor: Self contained double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (this is separate to the main living area with access to the main house up the external stairs). All rooms have lovely views.

Summary: We arrived in the evening. What a sight we had to welcome us! The beautiful pool was all lit up and the flowers around the pool looked stunning. The next morning we were all gobsmacked at how beautiful everything was. The photos do not do the property justice. The house is huge plenty of room for us 10. The location is beautiful, with lots of lovely walks for the dogs. Miriam is the loveliest lady too, she couldn’t do enough for us.

Summary: Lovely sized property with a great amount of amenities. There was a group of 9 friends and we all had a incredible time here. Pool was great, place was clean and tidy when we arrived. Really decent number of games available etc. The neighbour was absolutely amazing. Its very remote, so youll need a car or be prepared to spend a lot on taxis to get anywhere but personally our group had both. The biggest issue (which unsure what the host can do, and they did warn us in the comms before) was the unbelievable amount of wasps at the pool, probably not ideal for young kids but they seemed to stay away when we were all in the pool.

Summary: My family described it as ‘the real deal’. A picturesque farmhouse in a beautiful area with enough facilities to make it a really relaxing holiday. The pool was excellent. Travelling distances to some places were a little ambitious in the timing described, but no problem. We all had a wonderful time.

Summary: The house is very well equiped. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is enough room for all activities and it is a quiet nabourhood. Especially we enjoyed using the pool. From Pradines you can easily visit many fantastic places: Carcasonne, Narbonne, Béziers, the coast, Canal du Midi, Abbaye De Fondfroide and the region of the Cathars with the famous ruines of Peyrepertuse. After a trip it is nice coming home and have your meal on the terrace!

Summary: We had a great couple of weeks in this spacious farmhouse. Surrounded by vineyards, it is very peaceful, but only a short cycle ride to the local village for supplies. We opted for a very relaxing break and spent nearly every day by the pool which was the perfect size for our 2 families. The house was cool and spacious with a great mezzanine level for the kids. Would recommend!

Summary: This is a delightful secluded property but only a few minutes drive away from the nearest small village with shops and cafe. The thick walls make it cool even in very warm weather (we were there at the beginning of September) and the pool is a great place to sit around during the day. We went on some day trips to beaches and towns (Carcassonne in particular) and walks in the hills around the property. Highly recommended.

Summary: Had a really good 2 wks here. Good size villa, plenty of space. Area is secluded and peaceful with hills and vinyards all round. Plenty of places to visit including carcassonne and the castles in the pyrenees. We ummed and arred over whether to heat the pool but decided against it. The new solar cover definitely made a difference and lifted the temperature just enough. We were serenaded by the frogs at night and wowed by the eagles flying overhead in the day. All in all a good holiday.
