Positive: The house has a pretty garden and authentic feel, but prepare to go back in time 40 years. The house was rather dark and smaller than the pictures let it appear. It is in the middle of nowhere in a small town, so not much around.

Negative: This is not worth the money that is being charged. There was a distinct smell in the house, rather damp, which would not disappear. Everything is old and the fridge had no light. The washing machine made the electric surge stop, but luckily it restored. The pictures show an outdoor eating spot but there was none, the hammock was also not there. New pictures are needed and we advise a lower price. The pool is small and was not clean, and positioned at the back against the shed and next to the drive way, so not very pretty and unsuitable for small children. All these things could be overlooked, if the price was half. It was simply too expensive for what you get. Charging 10,- for a bottle of wine did not help, please make this complementary to the house of leave it out.

Positive: It's a very cozy and "Homey" property where you land and feel at home. Location is fantastic to explore the area, either beautiful beaches (Highly recommended Azenhas do Mar,) or the fantastic offer of Sintra (but Do plan what you want to visit as most attractions got really busy). Nice wineries with plenty of story around - we recommend Adega de Colares and Quinta St. Michel, but the area is very rich in this chapter with unique wines.

Negative: its was the initial feeling that everything seemed 25% smaller then the pictures and the immediate surroundings when arriving didn't help... but once you settled it turned to be very very nice.

Positive: Beautiful large garden. Lots of space in the property and very comfortable beds. Well equipped and very well looked after. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Great location for beaches, coastal walks and Sintra. Easy drive to Lisbon and airport. Off road parking. The grounds are gated and feel quite private. Children loved the dip pool.

Positive: It’s is very private and pleasant location with a secure yard and parking. The beds were very comfortable and the house was well equipped. It is close to the beaches and has convenient access to the Sintra sights.

Positive: Great, peaceful garden, grill equipment. The place feels like it has its history, many cute artifacts spilled all around the house. All the necessary equipment is needed to cook, and it has a very comfy place to eat outside. It is close to central Sintra (Uber works well).

Negative: One bathroom for a 3-bedroom apartment can sometimes be tight, and the house smells old, so we kept doors wide open.

Positive: Great communication with our hosts. The place was lovely, comfortable and clean. The garden was amazing. There’s a little bakery/restaurant very short, walk away… but be prepared to spend plenty of time there, as service is not exactly prompt. It’s next to a catering company that sells meals to take home, too. There’s a small market that’s a slightly longer walk in the other direction.

Negative: I only wish it had been warmer outside so that we could’ve taken advantage of the pool :-)
