The recently modernized house is steps away from the quiet golden sand beach and is in the centre of the quaint village of Castlerock. Shops, home bakery, bistro and two pubs. 100 meters from Castlerock Golf Course and 15 minutes from the famous Portstewart and Portrush Golf courses. The beautiful North Antrim coast and The Giants Causeway is 30 minutes away. The Village is on the main Belfast to Derry railway line with frequent trains. 15 minutes to the car ferry to Donegal, a 10 minute sea journey. Good shopping in nearby towns of Coleraine and Limavady.
Ideal base for golfers playing the Antrim and Derry links courses at Portrush, Portstewart and Castlerock. Ideal base to visit Londonderry, City of culture 2013 and the annual North West 200 motor cycle race which takes place on the Coleraine, Portrush, Portstewart road circuit.
The house is on the edge of the National Trust managed Victorian estate of Downhill Castle and famous Mussenden Temple. Marvellous scenic walks through ornamental gardens, lakes and woods.

Summary: Amazing house, one street back from the beach. As someone else has said in a review, the pictures don’t do the house justice. It’s really nice. Robert, the owner was super helpful and communicative. Can’t fault anything and will definitely stay there again hopefully when in the area. Recliner chairs in the lounge were the icing on the cake..! 😀

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our 12 days at this house in Castlerock. We cooked most of our meals in and felt the kitchen had everything we needed. The dining room was bright and spacious for our family of 6. It has a darling back patio with a barbecue and patio furniture. The living room was comfortable. We appreciated having closets and spaces to unload our suitcases. Everything is walkable from the house including the train station, bakery, coffee shop, small grocery store and a few places to eat. We did not have a car instead we walked, trained or used a taxi for anywhere we wanted to go. Our only problem was with the WIFI not reaching the furthest bedroom as our daughter was working several of the days while there. She ended up moving to the dining room which was closer to the router. Everyone commented often on what a great find this house was! We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Wonderful holiday home, spotless and everything there and more. Welcomed in by Barbara & Philip, who kindly gave us there number for any problem, never needed to use, also appreciated very much the tea, milk and welcome goods, thank you. Short walk to sandy beach, cafe, restaurant, pub, and short drive to AONB. Overall excellent stay and hopefully will be able to return. Thank you
