Built in 2008, the lodge sits on our family owned and operated bison ranch in Coalmont, CO. We are about 1/2 an hour SW from Walden & minutes away from Routt County National Forest. Excellent fishing and hunting. Ideal home base for snowmobilers and ATV enthusiasts. Nearby trails are minutes away so trailer out or leave directly from the ranch. Plentiful hiking trails and camping sites as well. Enjoy world class skiing or go for a soak at the hot springs in Steamboat Springs, just 50 minutes away. In late summer and early fall, take a scenic drive over Buffalo Pass. The fall colors are spectacular when the leaves are at their peak. Wildlife viewer and birdwatchers' paradise! Moose, elk, deer, antelope, and eagles are frequently seen in the area. The Rabbit Ears are visible on a clear day. Enjoy your coffee while watching our buffalo roam!

Summary: This house was very comfortable for our family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The house looks new inside and out and is very well taken care of. The views of the surrounding mountains are beyond spectacular. The owners are very responsive and nice. Definitely want to return.

Summary: EWR is a beautiful and peaceful place. The house is amazing and we had a terrific stay with our teenage boys. The Pool Room was such a nice feature and the whole house is well designed and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!

Summary: We had plenty of room had tons of fun playing pool and admiring the bison running around in the snow. We were able to drive to Steamboat for skiing during the day easily even with snow coming in each night. Make sure you have 4-wheel drive!

Summary: Julie and Jim have a gorgeous home with plenty of space. You really can relax and watch the bison roam. As a born and raised Floridian, I would say it was a bit difficult to get used to the elevation here so will definitely have to be more prepared next time, but would stay here again.

Summary: Everything about this place is amazing. The views were gorgeous. The house was SO nice. Very high quality. Beautiful bathrooms. Great beds. Soft pillows. TVs everywhere. Pool table. All pots pans blenders you name it. The owners were wonderful and communicative and took us to see the new baby bison herd and taught us so much. We will definitely be back.
