Positive: • Beautiful pub • Spacious clean room • The lady that showed us to our room was helpful and friendly

Negative: • room hadn’t been set out for the people arriving • room was freezing cold on arrival • when we asked about forgotten toiletries eg (shower gel) we were told to go to aldi • wasn’t specified that the 3rd bed was a sofa bed • the bar man on that night seemed very miserable and unwelcoming, was also not asked if we wanted to dine in the restaurant • we were also booked in for breakfast which they had also forgotten about • this last point may seem petty however they only had pg tips which is odd when the yorkshire tea factory is less than 10 minutes away

Negative: Could hear every move of couple staying above, there were not noise just no installation between floor and ceiling. Walk to sister hotel for breakfast, OK when weather good not so if raining. Bar shut at 8p on Sunday. Was strange no locals in bar!!

Positive: Breakfast was 5 minutes walk from the pub. Very nice food. Shame that you can’t have breakfast at the pub.

Negative: No hot water. Out of 5 rooms, our family occupied 4. Only 1 had hot water for a limited time.

Summary: Would probably not stay here again.

Positive: This was a beautiful inn in a very charming village . Quiet and comfortable with attentive service a great evening meal and one of the very best accommodations we've ever found on our half-dozen visits to England. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.,

Negative: I would have liked to have had a breakfast on the premises; instead a rather expensive one was on offer at nearby Goldsborough Hall. We opted to go into nearby Knaresborough for a meal.

Positive: A quick overnight stay turned into the social event of our trip. We checked in during the busiest part of dinner, yet the assistant manager graciously found time to make us feel like we were his only customers. The rooms were everything we expected and better. We hadn't planned to have dinner based on our arrival time, but they were able to get us in before the kitchen closed for a top-notch meal. By the end of a quick evening meal and drink, we had somehow managed to meet about 30 people, including the local cycling club, where we ended up on their FB page as those "cyclists from Texas." Then this busy restaurant and pub cleared out quickly, the families with small children in the adjoining park had all left, and it was like we had booked a place far away from anyone. We had a peaceful night and unhurried exit the next morning. What a perfect place to stay.
