Summary: Very friendly host, a lovely private accommodation with great views. It’s a working farm and you’re greeted by beautiful horses - perfect!

Summary: Owner Mike is friendly and service and his breakfast cooking was good. One thing I feel can further improve is, when we arrived at the hotel around 1700hrs it was already total darkness as we are travelling in winter Dec 2024. Mike should install a lamp by the sign board where the instructions for the guests, to guide the guests to the instruction’s board, as the winter darkness make it challenging for us. He should also change the blackboard to others board as the chalk on the blackboard fade when we arrived, making it hard for us to read. Other than this, all is good, a nice place to stay and experience.

Summary: We had a lovely one night stay in the cottage. Great for self catering and enjoyed having stables outside where we could see the horses. Lots of space and a nice log fire to enjoy. The breakfast was delivered to the cottage at our chosen time and was really tasty.

Summary: Check in was non existent. When I turned up, there was a sign that had my name on it telling us were to go. Door was open with details on a table. No staff around to make payment for the stay. Farmhouse itself was nice, however dated. The photos on Expedia need to be updated to show what it is actually like. Kitchen was clean and ample for our stay. Downstairs bathroom is what we used and hot water worked fine however things needed some maintenance. The lounge area was comfortable but old fashioned. The grounds of the property were lovely. Garden was maintained very nicely and property overlooked the fields where the horses were. No cows were about like the photos show. We got the see lots of British wildlife which made my daughter happy. Upstairs of the property I did not like at all. The layout was strange, walk up the stairs to a very small bedroom on the right which looks like a cupboard, then a large room with double bed on the left. You have to walk through this room, to go down a strange corridor to get to a 3rd bedroom which has a long hallway down to a random bedroom to the side and a bathroom and toilet. I found the top part of the house creepy. We stayed in June and it was so cold in the house. There was no instructions on how to turn the heating on. Not sure if this place is haunted but strange things happened during the night which really scared me. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our door on time we had requested.

Summary: A dream stay. Lovely cottage on a working farm just a few minutes drive from Castle Combe and Chippenham. The hosts were lovely, the cottage was warm and homely with an amazing log burning fire. Each morning, a freshly cooked breakfast is brought to your door at a time of your choosing. Would highly reccommend to all.

Summary: I'm only giving this exceptional simply because there's no higher accolade. The cottage was fantastic, the breakfast was one of the best I've had. Comfy, quiet and a home from home. Best nights sleep I've had while away.

Summary: We stayed in the Farmhouse at Battens Farm. It was absolutely fantastic. Such a beautiful big property, plenty of space, beautiful surroundings on the farm and just a fantastic stay. Mike the owner was a wander full host, very friend and helpful, gave us some great suggestions of what to do locally. The breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again and recommend anyone to stay here!

Summary: Stayed here for 2 nights, enjoyed every second of it. Such a peaceful and relaxing environment. The building was clean and welcoming, upon arrival milk and butter were left in the fridge for us- very cute touch. Secluded outside area outside the cottage which was lovely to enjoy the fresh air in the evenings. TV and WiFi both available in the cottage, daughter was very happy about this but surprisingly found herself not using her phone or iPad much at all! She was happy to watch the horses and enjoy being outside instead! The owner Mike was very friendly, gave us advice and recommendations when needed but left us alone for the most part which we personally like. The breakfast was delivered fresh each morning, what an amazing breakfast it was too. Would very happily go and stay again
