Positive: Jean was very accommodating and was available upon arrival to make sure I was settled. Very kind lady as despite I was needing to leave early, still offered Continental breakfast for me in the morning. The decor is not modernised however this shouldn't put you off, as this place felt like a welcoming family home. The location is fantastic, especially for hiking helvellyn or other local walks and close to the lakes. I would absolutely stay here again.

Negative: The fridge being next to the bed is a little noisy (standard fridge noise), however I sleep through anything so didn't bother me at all, just recommend if you are a light sleeper maybe pack some ear plugs. I also was happy that I got a fridge as was able to keep my lunch in it for the next day - bonus feature in my opinion.

Positive: The barn is located in a picturesque place with a great mountain view. The house has its own and unique history which is easy to notice through the exterior and interior design. A friendly host who cooks full English breakfast will leave noone indifferent.

Positive: We loved the history of the property told by Jean. She spent her valuable time chatting with us. It was a pleasant change to have all guests eat at the same time around a single large table. The location is lovely and quiet and in walking distance of a great pub for an evening meal. We will definitely stay again. Thanks Jean for making us welcome.
