Positive: The host give us a bigger room without extra cost because the original room which we booked was under renovation.

Negative: Can't imagine the room was on 4th floor that needs to climb up the narrow stairs with large luggage.

Positive: Close proximity to town centre, ideal for walking around town. Bed was comfy - had Netflix (which you had to sign into your personal account) Key box was very handy Overall clean apartment accept smelly shower and dirty dishes

Negative: Awful communication with owner - we asked for tips round NYE and got ignored. Was not told where to leave bins so had to leave our food waste in the outside bins for the public on the sidewalk. Dishes were dirty when checking in for the first time. Smell came from the shower/ drains as soon as you switched on the shower. Safe isn’t ideal, can be picked up with ease.

Negative: Was on the top floor, no lift so had to carry 2 suitcases via very narrow stairways. The bathroom smelled of sewage very strongly, same as the tap water. The top floor apartment also has beams everywhere including the shower so you can’t really stand up straight to shower, nor is the shower head attached to a high place so you have to hand hold it yourself.

Summary: Not great, would not recommend unfortunately

Negative: The apartment is on the 4th floor, the stairs are very narrow, so it was challenging to carry our luggage upstairs.

Positive: The apartment was really beautiful, well kept and super comfortable. Home from home! It felt cosy and made us want to spend more time in the property, the sleep and storage space was 10/10 too!

Negative: The only negative would be the eggy smell from the shower. I know you can’t avoid it in Iceland but we stayed in two other places and the smell wasn’t a fraction as bad in those. It made us quite uncomfortable when quickly showering and the smell lingered for a long time. The stairs weren’t a problem for us and are worth it to get to the apartment!

Positive: Close to city centre. Parking close by. Key code to get into property makes you feel more secure.

Negative: When we arrived at the property the balcony door was open, this gave access to the stairs leading to the back of the property so anybody could have let themselves in. We were unable to lock the door at first so contacted the owners they sent somebody out to sort it for us. They were quick to resolve the issue 🙂 The property was also very noticeably dirty didn’t look like it had been cleaned properly, all kitchen utensils and appliances were very dirty ☹️ There was also a few things that could’ve been sorted like the hole in the wall with wire unsure what it was previously used for.
