Positive: A beautiful place to stay in Symi with incredible views and so much history to the very unique property. Iris was a brilliant and helpful host and we had a wonderful time.

Positive: This place is a real gem. The most important feature is the view from the very large terrace, you will not tire of it whether it be in the morning for breakfast or int he evening for drinks and dinner. The house is a real family house, not a house set for rental only, so there is al the amenities of a real house, the kitchen is large and well furnished, the rooms are large and well decorated. The whole house has very good vibes and is charged with history, the gardens are superb. Our host was really friendly and the communication was excellent. The island of Symi is not for people who have mobility problems. Do not be put off by the fact that this house is above the village, it is easily reachable by a road. But if you love walking like me you will soon discover your way through the village and will be able to reach the heart of Chorio in 10 minutes and the port in 30 minutes.

Positive: A really characterful house with spectacular views. Spacious and quiet, the only sounds were from cicadas, cockerels and church bells. Chorio village, not far to walk down to, is friendly, with great tavernas.

Negative: If we came again, we might consider hiring mopeds to help us up the hill at the end of the day (although taxis were always available).

Summary: A memorable stay on a beautiful island.

Positive: Prior to booking Iris the owner made contact and arranged a taxi for us from the port. We were greeted by Ian and he showed us around the townhouse and then gave us a fantastic and essential tour to the village. Both Iris and Ian were contactable during our stay should we have needed them. The views from the terrace and the master bedroom are breathtaking. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker and all of the cooking utensils/essentials you need. The traditional decor was functional and beautifully traditional. There is also plenty of space. We particularly loved lying in bed whilst drinking coffee and taking in the view. Wine on the terrace as the sun set was just spectacular. The walk from the port takes approximately 30 minutes and it is worth noting that there are lots of steps. You can park a car/moped close to the accommodation. We walked everywhere and were happy to do so - the narrow streets are so picturesque.

Negative: Nothing. Our stay was perfect.

Summary: Fantastic traditional accommodation with spectacular views!

Positive: The terrace is lovely, large and private, with extraordinary views. Staying up the hill is a great and different way to experience Symi. It’s peaceful and a bit apart, but then you can very quickly re-enter the life of the town.And you get to know Xorio in ways you would not otherwise. The house is charming, a pleasure to stay in and well-equipped. The owners were very helpful indeed.

Negative: Lazy me, the climb back up to the house from the harbour! But it gets easier with practice - or you can simply get a taxi or hire a bike … and anyway, always worth it for the view when you get back house.

Summary: Fabulous house and location, peaceful and relaxing holiday.
