Positive: We love everything about this home & will definitely book it if we return to Schwangau. It was roomy enough for our group of 7 - two families. It is iwell appointed, & even has an electric kettle for your tea. We didn't cook at all, but I imagine it has all of the proper equipment to prepare meals. The view from the two main bedrooms is a treat. The Alps almost looked photoshopped onto the large picture window panes. The buses are easy to navigate and run regularly. It was 3-5 minutes to the nearest stop and the one was used the most. It is a short ride to the castles and into Fussen. The buses are clean and uncrowded, and the guest pass included in the stay got us everywhere we needed to go without having to purchase extra tickets. (NOTE: If you are used to being able to Uber, you should know that we were unable to use it in Schwangau. We just pivoted to the bus when we realized it wasn't an option. I thought we should mention it, though, since it came up. I actually like that it forced us to use the more environmentally-friendly option.) We were only in Schwangau/Fussen for 3 nights, but we walked the city, hiked over to the Austrian border, which is worthwhile if you like jaw dropping scenery and being out in nature, and used the Swan Pass to visit both castles and the museum in one day. Using the guest pass to purchase the tickets took $5 off each adult pass. Hohenschwangau was my favorite, despite the fact that Neuschwanstein was the one that gets all of the attention and is main one we intended to see. There are several excellent restaurants in Schwangau that we liked - an Asian place (maybe Asian House) and an Italian restaurant that is connected to a hotel. There is a grocery down the street that is convenient if you need to shop. It closes at 8 p.m. Eva, our host, was so easy to communicate with and helpful. There wasn't a moment where I had a concern or felt uncomfortable with the process. I highly recommend this property.

Positive: Okay, the view from upstairs is the Neuschwanstein Castle. The views from just about anywhere are of amazing mountains. When we were there, it snowed - and words cannot describe just how beautiful it was. The house is amazing. Three levels - absolutely beautiful home. It's about a half mile from a grocery store. It was just an incredible experience.
