Positive: Room spotless, as was the bathroom. Very cordial owner/staff. Motorbike rental - having lived in Indonesia for a LONG time, the island is the safest place for novice riders in the entire country. Bottomless coffee and tea in the common area. And a few minutes' walk to the fresh market (excellent cashews for sale), the port, 3 dive shops, various coffee shops/restaurants, and the central square.
Negative: Breakfast supposedly included, but it was not mentioned, ever - this may well be irregular, though, due to Ramadan. While the homestay has a courtyard, it's a tad grim, surrounded by high walls and with but a scrap of grass - though I'd guess all the homestays in town are similar. It's also only a stone's throw from the main mosque, and the calls to prayer are painfully loud.

Positive: Great location, nice little patio, water dispenser, cute cats
Negative: The bathroom is very very very basic. There's no washbasin, just a tap and a bucket, and the shower handle isn't working. No hot water, although the water is warm because it comes from tank. But also means the water smells like a pond and isn't safe for brushing teeth. There's no soap, shampoo or toilet paper provided AC struggled and fan is disgusting and not making much wind

Positive: Convenient location (near to the port, shops, atm and food) discount on bike hire when hiring for multiple days. Staff were super helpful and let us extend our stay. Good AC and fan with comfy clean bed. Bathroom was pretty normal (nothing fancy) but clean (shower is cold but that’s normal for the great price). Nice outdoor seating area.
Negative: Water machine was broken but staff were really helpful to make hot water and fill our water up.
Summary: Great location, great staff and offers on bike hire. Comfy and cool room.
