Positive: We loved the location, looking out over the sea, in the hot tub or looking out from the windowsill inside. We felt very “away from the world, in a good way” (WiFi and phone signal was good, but would recommend turning the phone off and enjoying the beautiful surroundings). Ian and his family were very welcoming and friendly.

Negative: We loved everything about dry island, the only thing we would say is that the steps down to the property and the short walk on the mainland to get to the bridge would be difficult for people with mobility issues (for us it added to the charm of staying on an island)

Summary: Perfect hideaway from a hectic world! 10/10

Positive: Amazing views from the entrance area out onto Loch and a stone pier, boats on buoys, etc. Very quiet location. Excellent drinks and food at Badachro Inn 15 minutes hike away. Plenty of local activities eg owner rents out sit on kayaks with life jackets. Very welcoming owner and super friendly dog.

Negative: The 200m walk from car park to the floating bridge, which involves about 60 steps and quite a steep narrow path down to the shoreline. Along the shoreline the path is narrow and bumpy - a good sense of balance is essential even on a dry day. Only take the minimum luggage and food supplies, or you will be walking back and forth. The accommodation is quite basic and the shower room and toilet is not en suite. Swallows and Amazons type accommodation for the adventurous.

Positive: Ian was an amazing host. The location of the property was amazing. Walking around the island seeing the wildlife, scenery was second to none Sitting outside in the hot tub in the dark was stunning. Peaceful and relaxing
