Positive: Our stay here was amazing. We spent the month in numerous places throughout Sri Lanka and this was the highlight of our trip. Very clean facilities, the hosts were incredibly nice and cooked the best home cooked meals! We upgraded to the top floor and would highly recommend doing so. The sunset was one of the best we’ve ever seen. An amazing spot to get away from the hustle and bustle within the towns. The owners have a tuktuk that can meet you down where the road gets rocky or you can walk it. Our taxi driver was convinced he could drive us there but was unable to do so, just a heads up to not plan to be dropped off right in front unless you coordinate for a tuktuk with the hosts. Hiking is amazing and the knuckles five peaks trailhead is very close. FYI WiFi and tea do cost additional money but it was worth it for us

Positive: The bed is very comfortable and the View spectacular when it is not raing and cloudy. The room is spacious and modern

Negative: Since we had bad weather the room was a bit draughty and cold, but we git to borrow an oven and a water boiler for coffee. A kettle and cups + tea/coffee in the room would have been nice. Great hosts who fixed a local guide for us and cooked traditional food which was great! It is an effort to get there, so I advice you to check the weather forecast before booking. We didn't, and it RAINED all the time (and then the leeches get out)

Positive: This is a lovely 2-room family run hotel right next to the Knuckles reserve. We were cared for beautifully throughout the stay, with huge, delicious meals. Vegetarian and vegan options were available. The hosts were very welcoming and available to help to plan our activities. The room has stunning panoramic views of the hills. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The hotel is being developed, a garden and other amenities are on their way! We had a local guide for the walk to the Knuckles peaks which was excellent and provided great views. There are many waterfalls in the area, including Knuckles Falls (5mins walk) where you can bathe. The long journey is worth the effort. There are buses from Kandy to Wattegama and then on to Bamberella. Once the train line re-opens public transport access will be much easier. The final stretch of road is impassible except by 4X4 or locally arranged tuk tuk, we chose to walk this which was manageable. This makes for a very peaceful setting once you arrive, the area is very quiet and it’s a lovely place to relax. Highly recommended for walkers and nature lovers!

Positive: This Villa is perfect for one or multiple hikes in Knuckles. The room is clean, and has an amazing balcony. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided in request. The owners were very helpful, and organized a guide for our hike for a good price. The Villa is located basically at the start of the hike, the location is very calm and just amazing. There are multiple waterfalls and great trails close by. We had an amazing time, and would always stay again. We went there by PickMe and walked the last part.

Positive: What wonderful and welcoming people and what a perfect location! Situated right at the top of a stone 4x4 track that terminates into jungle, this home away from home is a proper roost overlooking misty tea plantations and gazes up towards the knuckles 5 peaks! This makes the property perfect for hikers and nature lovers alike. Cooking is provided on site by Jayantha and his wife, they can provide it things you ask for, the style is traditional and delicious and portions are massive! Couldn't recommend this place enough. I spent one night here during a solo trip up to knuckles 5 peaks which was completed in only 3 hours!
