Positive: Excellent location, it was an easy walk into town. The spa pools were fabulous. The restaurant was exceptional with great attention to detail. We could only book a budget room, but it exceeded our expectations We would certainly stay here again

Positive: Quiet location. Excellent dinner with quality produce and service and atmosphere. Pleasant free continental breakfast. Pool options were terrific. Comfortable enough beds and clean linens. Soaps / complimentary toiletry items were appreciated. Biscuits were appreciated after our journey. Renovated dining area was very nice. Hopefully this renovation process expands to the rooms at some stage.

Negative: Received email with a 10% discount for dinner but then staff indicated there wasn't a discount for dinner (at time of payment after meals). Then received a further email on check out again promoting a discounted dinner for guests 🤨. Disappointing. Have emailed asking they update the communication if there isn't a discount. Room was tired and damaged. I couldn't open the door very well to get in and out of the room due to movement of either the door or the building. It was stuck! Had to use the rear door and open the front door from the outside. The bathroom cabinetry was significantly water damaged and in need of replacement, major cracks in the wall of room near child's bed, lack of ventilation to bathroom (the available ventilation fan was quite dirty). The room had been recently cleaned but wasn't freshly cleaned for our arrival - small dead bugs on bathroom vanity suggested lapse of time between the last room clean and our arrival (though I did make a same day booking, so appreciate limited time to do so). Room fridge smelled strongly of garlic. Couldn't use it. There seemed to be two addresses online - I think the website for the property provided an alternative (updated?) address - not sure why! The other address doesn't seem to be for the current property.

Summary: An appreciated stop but needs improvement.
