Negative: Tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in. There was a mattress in reception. I had to call someone as no one came to the door after I rung it twice (around 6pm). The toilet didn’t flush

Positive: My room was up in the roof space and very cosy, apart from the lighting. The central heating was very good and the shower excellent. It was also very quiet and the views were an added bonus. The location is excellent for both the tube and bus.

Negative: The lighting was very harsh, too bright for me, so some lamps would have been welcomed.

Positive: Speaking with the staff, who were very pleasant, agreed early checkin and off street parking out front early. Very handy.

Negative: The shower was absolutely filthy. Orange mold and grime on the tiles was disgusting. The curtain was covered in black mold spots. At least the bed sheets were clean.

Summary: Cheap & basic, good location but not one for a romantic getaway.

Positive: The guest house is good value for less than 50 GBP. I arrived late at night, and the owner was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Note that there are steps to the front door, and the underground station also only has steps.

Positive: The staff were really lovely. It was v close to the tube and a Sainsbury's. Lovely cafes nearby. The linen smelt fresh and towels were clean. I was 'upgraded' to a double instead of a single, but now I don't know if I missed out...

Negative: This is probably the dirtiest place I have ever stayed. I was confused why linen, toilets and cockery were changed, but the walls were covered in stains from top to bottom. It a shock. I've only ever stayed one place like this before. It would be so easy to hire someone to clean this room, repaint and then maintain it. I can't see this room shown on the website and wonder if that is deliberate
