Positive: An outstanding bed and breakfast that you would find extremely hard to beat! So clean, well presented, great facilities including tea, coffee and water in your room, and an outstanding breakfast! The Appley Lodge is only 10 mins walk from the Espalande, restaurants, coffee shops, Shanklin Old Town shops and much more. Gareth and Wendy absolutely look after you, with so many nice touches and help if required at all times. They really do make a difference and it does make a real difference with two such warm friendly and hosts. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL - you will not find a better bed and breakfast in the Isle of Wight.

Positive: The location was optimal for everything, but Shanklin is one of my favourite places on the island and you’re right next to the front (lift or small walk down) The breakfast was delicious - highly rate the mushrooms! Exactly what we needed. Definitely will return! Gareth and Wendy were so good to us, so friendly and excellent company. Very considerate of everyone’s needs and very genuine.

Negative: Nothing! It was wonderful! I think the only snag was human error because mum worked it out on the last morning but I struggled to regulate the temperature in the shower. I thought it was just lots of people trying to shower simultaneously so it got cold, but as I say - mum worked it out on the final morning!

Summary: Absolutely wonderful, ideal place to stay, great hosts - will be back!

Positive: The location was great within 10 minutes walk of the beach, local village, pubs and restaurants. The Appley Lodge was a very peaceful pleasant base for our weeks holiday. The facilities were great and Gareth and Wendy were superb hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of breakfasts offered and this set us up for day if site seeing. When we returned we enjoyed a nice cuppa sitting on the veranda.

Negative: There was nothing we didn't like.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay with perfect hosts, who were knowledgeable about the Island.
