2 Bedroom Apartment in Bouzigues

Originally a fisherman's cave, we have developed this property into 2 modern, well equipped, light, airy apartments with sunny terraces. Apartment 2: second floor, one bedroomed apartment with wonderful views. Minutes from the beaches, port and waterfront cafes and restaurants specialising in local seafood. The water of the Etang is safe, clean and warm and ideal for young children.
The apartment sleeps 2/4, 1 bedroom with double bed plus convertible double bed/settee in large open plan lounge. French windows open onto a well equipped terrace with views of our mediterranean garden, the old village and surrounding hills. Amazing views over the Etang de Thau from the living area but especially from the roof top terrace. Ideally situated in the traditional, charming Bouzigues fishing village, 100m from the port/waterfront, 150m from beach. The accommodation has English freesat television and good internet.
A short walk through the picturesque village takes you to the boulangerie, grocers, newsagents, Post Office, ice cream parlour, savonnerie, craft shops and bars. There is a good pharmacy and medical centre in Bouzigues. The restaurants and cafés lining the waterfront specialise in the local seafood (oysters and mussels). Bouzigues has an interesting museum, a well equipped children’s play area and a farm/zoo. A good local bus service. The cycle track from Meze to Balaruc passes local beauty spots, notably areas of the Etang inhabited by flamingoes. There are some very special walks from Bouzigues along the edge of the Etang.

Summary: It was our third trip to Bouzigues and we love this small charming village at the Étang de Thau with the friendly people who inhabit it and with their nice (sometimes challenging) Occitan accent. The Étang de Thau is a hotspot for mussels and oyster farming and someone who loves seafood, will enjoy it in the restaurant or directly at the producteur tasting. In the surrounding area from Bouzigues you'll find many winemakers and a lot of good wine at the province Languedoc. Perhaps you'll to take a glass of wine with a picnic outside? No problem, take a basket, sit down at the museum harbour and enjoy a moody southern French sundown. Watersports at the Étang de Thau is also doable. Swimming, standup paddleboarding, sailing, canoeing or simply lazy laying on the beach is possible there. This year for the first time, we rented this cosy apartement on the second floor, which is really great, top equipped and well maintained. From the top of a small roof terace you have a nice view of the Étang the Thau with the opposite town Sète in the background. The owner has done absolutely everything to make us feel welcome. Summary: Enjoyed our stay on the Étang after a few weeks in Provence. Property is as described - comfortable with good kitchen. Outside space is good - roof terrace gives great views but a little more difficult to access. Good and responsive communication with Joanna. Lovely village and abundance of shellfish in a good range of restaurants. Highly recommended. Wish we had been able to stay a bit longer.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Joanna & John's apartment. Good communication with Joanna throughout, clear instructions and all very straightforward. Easy parking, nicely tucked away but just a couple of minutes walk from the port. The apartment was clean & comfortable and was well equipped with all we needed to enjoy our stay. Spoilt for choice with all the places to visit within an short drive. We'd love to go back when all the restaurants are open again! (currently closed due to Covid restrictions)
