Positive: The owners, Illeana and Riccardo, are the kindest people! They were extremely helpful and responsive to questions I had about things to see in the area and how to navigate transportation, which can be challenging. Their historic property is charming, spacious, and recently renovated. The large hot tub in the room was an extra treat, something you rarely find in other accommodations. (The heating and air conditioning system is new and felt really good on the warmer nights.) Great soundproofing in the walls so you can get a restful nights sleep. I would highly recommend this location as it is close to restaurants and shops and a 15 minute drive to the coast, where the beaches are beautiful. Bus stops and the train station are within walking distance as well.

Negative: I LOVED EVERYTHING about this property! The owners take special care to see that things are maintained and that guests are comfortable.

Positive: This property is in the perfect location in town, it is spotlessly clean and very roomy. If you are going to Sarzana there is no reason not to stay here; it is outstanding. We have been traveling Italy for 10 years and have stayed in 8 places so far this trip. We have a lot to compare it to and have plenty of experience.

Negative: There is nothing not to like.

Summary: This is just a wonderful place to stay.

Positive: We spent two nights at Antica Dogana and the place was amazing. We loved the high brick ceiling, the marble floor and the decorations and comfort of the room. The bathroom was enormous and impeccable. The place was very clean and our host was helpful and very nice. Also the city was so charming. I truly recommend,
