It belongs to the artist Esteban Ruiz who lives between Almodóvar del Río and Paris.
Being the home of an international artist, it creates a beautiful dialogue between traditional and contemporary aesthetics, breathing art and beauty in all its corners.
It has two floors, patio, terrace, infinity pool and garden.
In La Casa de la Luz, the common areas are kept to the smallest detail. The traditional cuisine integrates with a cozy dining room where the desserts prolong the gatherings. The lounges are open with different atmospheres and views to the valley of the Guadalquivir. A chimney presides one of these rooms and a small sacristy is ideal to enjoy a good wine inviting to the entrance of the library. All this, we must not forget, surrounded by works of art.
The Casa de la Luz is on a village balcony with wonderful views of the valley and the Guadalquivir River, so your patio / terrace is open to a truly spectacular view. Is perfect for dining in spring and summer or sunbathing as it is south facing. Also for cooling off you have a traditional swimming pool overlooking the river valley.

Summary: The description of the house and pictures do not tell the real beauty of this house. It's essence cannot be described, not only the architectural structure and views are beautiful but the richness of art and wisdom can be enjoyed thru the house. A destination that you don't need modern civilization but a very good wine and a few pair of glasses both for the sun and reading.PS charming town safe , beautiful and attentive people..I have to say rates very high on the list of places I've ever rented..one you walk in to the doors and meet the host you feel at home and you enjoy your journey....

Summary: Beautiful home with fabulous yard to relax and rejuvenate from your travels. Home is located in the outskirts so it’s easy to drive to, parking is just a few steps away and the views are breathtaking. Instead of staying in cordoba, Andalusia is a great reprieve from all the crowds, yet just a short drive to all the main sights.

Summary: Esteban's work is stunning and he is a helpful and patient host! As an artist myself, this is the dream home I hope to have one day. We enjoyed discovering different artwork and artifacts throughout the house. There are plenty of seating areas to relax and a big table to gather for meals outside. Beds were comfortable and large. There is parking in a small lot up the hill, and more on the streets nearby. We explored the castle and ate great meals in town, plus it was 30 minutes to Cordoba to see the Mezquita. Overall excellent in every way - I highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Summary: Estebans home is truly unique! If you have an artistic appreciation, you will love this place! Every wall adorns his interesting works of art. The village is somewhat difficult to navigate at first, but we figured it out, and really enjoyed our stay! The Almodóvar Castle atop a rocky promontory overlooking the village is a must see! The Mezquita in Cordoba is also worth a visit!

Summary: We had a lovely stay at Esteban and Isabel’s beautiful house. Nice little town with steep streets and lots of atmosphere. During our two week stay, Esteban was attentive and quick to reply when needed. He also provided us with some information about cultural happenings in and around Almodovar. Plenty of things to do I the area. We also enjoyed the beautiful garden and pool area. Thanks to Isabel and Esteban😀 We had a wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings.

Summary: We stayed two nights in this beautiful, art-filled home and didn’t want to leave. It is a slice of heaven on earth. Large home with tons of creative decor and art, replete with an expansive view of the countryside. You’ll love it.

Summary: Incredible art in a peaceful setting was a wonderful respite from the city. Restaurants in the small town were all wonderful and the people were very welcoming. The home itself is simply stunning and Esteban was a terrific host!

Summary: Like many properties in Spain and Mexico, this house doesn't look like much from the street--just a door opening directly onto a fairly busy street in this village. But once inside you will find art, books, terraces, flowering plants, painted ceramics, a pool, and a view of the Andalusian countryside that are truly special. Esteban communicated promptly and with kindness throughout the reservation and stay, and his place is one of a kind. Good AC and wifi complete the picture. We'll never forget our stay and were able to make visits easily to both Cordoba and Sevilla.

Summary: We loved Esteban’s property. It’s about a 30 min drive from the center of Cordoba and about a 3 min drive from the castle in Almodovar. The house is spacious, clean, well-designed and mixes modern and traditional elements with Esteban’s art pieces. The outdoor areas are very pleasant with expansive patio areas and a fig tree hovering over an infinity pool. You can tell the owners take great care of the property and guests with bouquets of fresh herbs and flowers arranged throughout, a welcome basket and thoughtful amenities. There is parking a 1 min walk from the house and the town itself is incredibly charming and local, a world away from Cordoba’s busy tourist center. Lastly communication was great and we appreciated Esteban waiting up for our unexpectedly very late arrival and helping us book taxis.
