Round Island Retreat is on an actual island, perched in the center of Sylvan Lake near Rome City, IN. Your own private island features 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a fully equipped kitchen and spectacular 360 degree views of the lake.
There are plenty of things to do on the 600 acre lake including skiing, great fishing, tubing and sailing. Our retreat offers access to the lake from two dock locations. Included with your reservation is exclusive access to a pontoon boat.

Summary: We had an amazing vacation at this island home! The host greeted us in person when we arrived and personally went over the rules and took us out to the island home so there were no unanswered questions prior to our stay. Great memories were made!

Summary: Property was a great location for family and friends celebrating a wedding at St. Gaspar and Sylvan Cellars. Host was especially accommodating and responsive to all our questions, and the property was very clean.

Summary: Our group of 10 (2 families each with 3 under 10 kids) had an amazing weekend at Round Island. It is such a unique experience and the house is perfect for a large group for cooking, dining, and relaxing. The kids especially loved the playhouse, moon room, and theater room. Sylvan Lake/Rome City has a great biking and walking path and it was fun to boat over to the ice cream shop and grocery store. Also highly recommend the Roberts pumpkin patch - best one we’ve been to. We did have some issues with the boat, but the owners and property manager were very responsive and had a backup ready to go. Would definitely come back!

Summary: My husband and i wanted to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We wanted something special but not to have to drive for hours to get there. I got on VRBO and found this property and its was perfect. We loved the experience! What more could you ask for than a private island only 20 minutes from your home. Our kids even came to visit and they are planning a trip with our friends and their families!

Summary: This is our second stay at Round Island and we absolutely love it (we've already booked our third visit!)! The house is wonderfully clean with fantastic amenities, fun games, and plenty of movies to watch once the sun goes down! We spend our mornings reading on one of the two decks, our afternoons picnicking on the boat, and our evenings at the BBQ and the firepit. It's a fabulous home for people of all ages and there's plenty of room for big groups! Would highly recommend!

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time staying on the island! We loved all the different seating areas, from couches to tables, we had plenty of room. The outside area was nice and we enjoyed the yard games they provided. Having access to a boat was also a nice perk so we could boat to different areas to swim, get ice cream, and just stroll around the lake. We did bring our own lake floats and life jackets, although some jackets were provided on the boat. But definitely bring your own water toys and rafts. The house was nice and clean when we arrived and very bright with all the windows. Great views! Having so many bathrooms and places to spread out was amazing too. The caretakers, Nicholl and family, made us feel right at home and promptly helped with any texts or questions we had. Everyone was so lovely! We don't have any complaints and look forward to returning again.

Summary: House was very cozy and met all expectations of our family. Hostess and Property Managers were very accommodating. Will gladly return. Fishing was great. Pontoon boat needed a deep cleaning but other than that, everything was perfect. Plenty of on-site games, nice grills, very clean with a kitchen that had everything and more. ***** 5 star!

Summary: It's not very often you can say you rented a private island all to yourselves for a weekend, but with this place it's the real deal. We had a great weekend and the variety of accommodations, particularly the pontoon boat, made it head and shoulders above other places we looked at. Definitely would recommend!
