Positive: The host was very friendly and accommodating. She made me some food on my last day and wouldn't accept payment which was very thoughtful

Negative: It was in a favela, and so the location wasn't great. Dogs barking all night. Room was very hot with only a fan to try and stay cool. Dangerous plumbing in shower but I think this is standard in Brazil

Summary: A bit of a shock but my mistake
