Cozy, quiet home with a privacy fenced backyard for you to enjoy. You can relax in the hammock & listen to the sound of the ocean or BBQ your catch of the day. We are across the street from the public beach (lifeguards, restrooms) or you can use our adjoining private beach and enjoy the view from the 2-story tiki hut. I love to watch pelicans skydiving in to the water for their dinner.
For your pets, not only is the backyard fully fenced but we also have pet beds, bowls, towels, toys and crates to welcome the furry members of your family. Size, type, breed and number of pets is not an issue and there is no pet fee. The WHOLE family is welcome.
10% of profits are donated to local animal rescue groups (my husband is laughing and says "as if" we could keep it down to that amount. haha.)
ur little neighborhood has a dog park at the end of our street and there is an off-leash dog beach 4 miles north of us. Little dogs may prefer the river side where it is shallow for 8-10' out. Local pet-friendly restaurants are listed in our House Book.
We recently finished remodeling the home and think the kitchen is gorgeous. What people rave about, though, is the rainforest showers in the bathrooms!
The home is fully furnished with linens, pillows, cookware, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, BBQ grill, as well as spices, condiments, FAST internet, WIFI and cable TV.
The back of our neighborhood is on the river and provides a pleasant view for watching the sunset. For daytime activities, you can use the boat ramp to put in your boat or fish from the adjacent dock.
One mile down the road is livelier Jensen Beach with restaurants, surf rentals and music. Dogs are allowed on one end of this beach and surfers are on the far end of this beach. Walton Rocks is a more secluded off-leash dog beach 4 miles north which offers scooper bags, water and restrooms.
May - September is Sea Turtle egg-laying season. Talks and night walks are given by the Oceanographic Society here on the island., so you can watch as they come up out of the surf and lay their eggs on the beach!! If you're here in other months, you can enjoy a tour of the House of Refuge and see the rescue work that they do with the giant turtles.
If needed, Shower chair and toilet chairs available on request at no charge.

Summary: We had a wonderful time, would have booked for next year but unfortunately booked. Only CC complaint is need to have hooks in bathroom for more towels hooks to hang up towels, we had 6 of them.

Summary: What a wonderful trip and perfect accommodations. We took a road trip for Christmas to see family and this VRBO allowed us to bring our dogs as well. I should rephrase. It’s one thing to simply allow pets and another to welcome pets. Jan and Van set everything up with pet families in mind, We felt so welcomed and at home. I even got to take my senior Jack Russell to the beach to play on the ocean for the first time. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do for him and he enjoyed it immensely. We hope to come back and stay again soon!

Summary: Jan is a wonderful host. She thinks of everything. Well positioned house. We were looking for an off leash dog beach. Jan was very helpful and gave us excellent suggestions. Walton Rocks Beach is a must if looking for off leash fun with your dogs just 4 miles north. The house is across the street from the public beach. Leashed dogs welcome after 5! Just a perfect fur baby vacay!!!

Summary: This home was PERFECT for a getaway trip for myself and my dogs! Everything was easy and that is exactly what I needed! The home was SPOTLESS, everything was LABELED (so helpful) and INVITING. The yard was great for the boys, the furniture comfortable and all the fixtures updated and wonderful. Communication with Jan was easy and the beach was lovely. Definitely recommend!

Summary: Jan is a terrific host-she was so helpful even before we arrived. The house is well appointed with great appliances and is well-located in a quiet neighborhood across the street from the beach and 4.5 miles from a beautiful, unpopulated, undeveloped and very big dog beach. She provides many things for dogs--crates, dishes, toys, beds and treats. A nice-sized walled in back yard for your dog to safely explore. She provides condiments, spices and even aloe for sunburn if required. A small issue is that her housekeeper let her down in a couple of areas such as no soaps or toiletries when we arrived so we needed to go out to buy, which is fine but unexpected compared against the other 4 similar VRBO properties we had rented before. The housekeeper also missed a trick in cleaning a blanket left in the master closet which I informed Jan about at the time...I am confident Jan will have all this sorted for the next renter as she really is a terrific host and for anyone with a dog or two who wants a lovely beach vacation, you could not find a better place.
