Summary: The cabin is absolutely beautiful two bedrooms downstairs one bedroom upstairs loft type beautiful kitchen. Everything you need to cook a meal great living room, beautiful deck. We were there in the winter so we didn’t use it. Wish we could have washer and dryer in a beautiful laundry room. Would go back to this property Again and again and again.

Summary: In our trip around the ring road, Akureyri Cottages was the nicest property at which we stayed. We had a party of 5 and there was plenty of room to spread out. It was by far the best value for the $$$. The cottage had its own washer and dryer and they were free to use. We had use of a private hot tub. The property also has a nice patio with a grill. It would be a great place to use as a home base if you are spending more than one night in Akureyri. I highly recommend.

Summary: The email communication prior to our arrival was helpful. We were given clear instructions on the check-in process and everything went smoothly upon arrival. Our cottage was immaculate. The one thing that we misunderstood when booking was that the toilet and sink are in the small cottage, but the shower is located in the main building. If that was explained anywhere in the hotels.com listing, or in the pre-arrival communications, I completely missed it. The property is managed as part of an adjacent hostel, and a shared shower is common in hostels, but I didn’t expect it in the cottages. A simple change in the listing to “shared shower” might be helpful for others. Would I stay again? Absolutely. We liked it!
