Positive: The house was very nice and spacious, with a wonderful view of the sea.
Negative: Aitutaki Resort & Spa has very little to do with what you would expect from a resort or spa. It is a nice house with a brilliant view and a great location right on the beach. We expected more of a resort experience, as it is marketed as a resort, but unfortunately, this was absolutely not the case. Instead, it felt more like renting a nice house through Airbnb. The people were really nice, and everything was very clean. However, if you are looking for a true resort or spa experience, this is not the place. The name and marketing create expectations that the property simply does not meet. It had neither a restaurant nor a spa!

Positive: Location was great although a rental car is probably needed if you want to explore or go to restaurants. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and you almost felt like part of the family. The breakfast was substantial. Perhaps a little more variety for those like us that have longer stays however they were tasty and healthy.
Negative: The construction noise right next door. While we were informed that this would finish at 5 on lovely evenings it went until 6 and beyond. This left us not being able to relax on the wonderful deck and enjoy the view in peace and quiet.

Positive: Wow-what an amazing place to stay! From the friendly greeting at the airport with flower 'eis with transport to the villa, to the fabulous location and views, we loved everything about our stay here. We were upgraded to the 2 bedroom villa as they were completing the final stages of renovation on the adjacent 1 bedroom. It was so spacious, luxurious with new leather lounges and additional seating. Highlights were the private pool and deck with new tiles and deck furniture and also the private deck and walkway at the front leading to the beach and those views- a wonderful place to enjoy an afternoon drink! Breakfasts were generous and tasty and we often had food left that we ate for a snack later in the day. There is air conditioning in the living area and bedroom so it was very comfortable. The best part though was Thomas (and the team), who could not have been more helpful with explaining the villa, some island history and assisted with rental car, booking dinners, recommendations and making sure we had everything we needed. We would love to come back (maybe for another wedding anniversary)?

Positive: Beautiful and private outlook onto the beach which also had a swimming pool that was perfect in the afternoons when sun was hot out on the beach side. Was good to have the ability to self cater although we mostly ate out. We had really lovely breakfasts delivered daily. Kayaks were also available. Great communication throughout, even organising our dinners and a car at very short notice (our fault). Thomas kindly booked our lagoon tour which was an absolute highlight (incredible - did the tour with TeKings). It’s a must do. The place had everything you would need and highly recommend.
Negative: They are about to undergo a renovation of our villa and therefore a couple of areas were a bit tired (but did not impact us at all) - pool painting, outdoor decking, blinds etc. Thomas kindly repaired the blind on 2nd day which was great. This was not a fault of the property at all but with nearby rubbish pile fires burning so close (next door), it was pretty smokey around the villa (and a bit inside), mainly only on one day/night and more obvious to someone with very slight asthma. It’s normal everywhere there, I just wasn’t prepared for it. Lastly would have been good to have access to mask and snorkel, but admittedly, we should have thought to ask or take some.

Positive: The entire experience with Aitutaki Escape was made incredibly enjoyable from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by Thomas who went above and beyond to get us familiar with the villa, ensured we had everything we needed and also made bookings for scooter hire, dinners and activities on the island. We were also met with a complementary cheeseboard and champagne which was such a welcomed surprise. The staff also delivered a delicious breakfast to our Villa each morning. The location of the Villa was situated right on the waterfront with our own private beach access. The entire Villa had everything we could have needed and exceeded our expectations - Thomas and his team were fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing private getaway on one of the worlds most beautiful islands.
