Positive: Just about everything. Breakfasts = excellent (11/10 for variety, food, fruit, drinks and bread choices, also catering for vegan, vegetarian, dairy and gluten free). Staff very attentive and helpful, offering to put items on a tray and take them to where I was sitting-rollator user. Everything else was fantastic, my room, room amenities (in a disabled room, esp the toilet seat/bidet! and automatic door (really helpful). Service was fantastic. I went down to reception to tell them I didn't have a remote for my tv. By the time I came out of the bar after my meal and went upstairs, the remote was already in the room. That's what I call excellent Service 👌.

Negative: Not good variety of meals in the bar-the only place,apart from breakfasts in the dining room, offering meals. No half or small portions available, even when I asked if they could make me a smaller inch pizza than the 11"ones available, they couldn't or wouldn't do it. I was a lone traveller and not a big appetite. Also thought, considering this is student accommodation, prices were a bit high. I suppose we are a captive customer, especially as quite a bit from the town,if,like me,don't drive, don't know what buses are running, where and when and due to being mobility disabled, can't walk very far. I can't be the only one who's asked for a smaller portion-and been refused, forcing me to go for the full size pizza, burger etc. The bar meals section really let you down. Would be helpful if you left a note of the wifi code somewhere in the bedroom eg on the desk. By the time I'd gone up to my room,I was in too much pain and exhausted to go back down to ask for it. Had to make do with what I could watch on the tv and use my phone for, without using wifi (I'm on a different wifi network). Shut the curtains in room to get changed and at night. When went to open them (at the courtyard door), I couldn't and only managed to partially open it as the type of curtain rail used, is very hard to manoeuvre, especially if you have very poor hands movement. Had to leave them like that as too afraid if I tried to move them along any more, it would break or the curtain would fall off the rail. As a lone disabled occupant, the double bed was lovely and very comfy but if I had had a Carer with me a double bed would be no use at all. For future reference, do you have any disabled rooms with 2 single beds, instead of 1 double bed?

Positive: Lovely building in a lovely setting. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were good with lots of choices and in a large and light room. It was only a short walk into St Andrews for excellent restaurants and many interesting places to visit there and further afield.

Negative: We had a few problems with the bathroom. The water had to be run for minutes on end to be warm enough for the small walk in shower though it got there in the end. It also was liable to flood over the lip of the shower wetting the floor.

Summary: A great place to stay convenient for St Andrews town and beaches.

Positive: Tiny student room but adequate and clean. Friendly staff. I could store my luggage for the day in a lock up. Breakfast was awesome!

Negative: The beds were a little hard!
